Help!!! Star Trek Season 1 HD-DVD

Help. I managed to severely damage the 4th HD DVD in this set, to the point that it is unplayable. I purchased the set from Target On-Line so they won’t replace a damaged DVD. I want to try and contact Paramount Home Entertainment or CBS Home Entertainment to inquire about replacing the DVD but I can’t find any way to contact them. Please, can some one help!!!!!

#1) Wrong forum

#2) Why should paramount replace a disc that you damaged?

I am sorry that it's in the wrong forum. But besides pointing out the error of my ways, do you have anything positive to add?

See if this makes sense. I paid lots of money for the set. I am willing to pay to replace the one DVD if I can. I don't really want to spend another $100+ on the whole thing. If I have to I will, but I would perfer to explore all the possibilites first.

Sorry if that offends.

I'm not being negative, I just don't see the point in being facetiously positive.

I'm not saying your solution doesn't make sense, just that it is not realistic. Companies don't sell single discs like that.

Try the customer care link on Paramounts DVD site. They might offer an exchange of sets for good will.

I agree that the odds are slim, but I'll give it a shot.

As far as the link on the Paramount site, either I am really blind, stupid or both, but their is no such link. No customer service link, no email link, no phone numbers nothing. Try Googling it, and you find almost nothing.

It really is disheartening.

May I ask how you "severely" damaged the disc?

At first I thought it was just a scuff on the DVD, but I can feel a ridge on the disk so it's a scratch. Bad enough that it doesn't just skip, it stalls and then tiles.

I am not sure if it would work for HD Discs but mosts game stores will resurface a disc for like $3, so you could always try that (It hase saved a couple of regular dvd's for me)

This set is less than 30 days old, why don't you just exchange it through the Target website or in-store?

As a last resort, you could always rent Disc 4 from Netflix.

I suppose you could always slingshot around the sun, therefore going back in time before you scratched the disc?

Just please don't fuck with anything else therefore ruining the space-time continuum, I like the current one we are in.

I just checked NetFlix and they don't have the enhanced series available, at least not that I can find.

You might've accidentally kept the Netflix copy & returned your bad disc if you just happened to mix them up. I'm surprised they don't have it for rent.

uhh.... how about you drop into Target and exchange it using your receipt that you purchased it with. Explain the situation (leaving out that YOU DID IT) and see if they would just exchange it out for you.

Worse comes to worst... you could just purchase the set from some other store - take back the 'destroyed' set and get instore credit for things that you'll eventually need in the short future (i.e; Walmart stores)

Good luck and be creative.

Nice. Real helpful to the next person who rents the NetFlix disc.....and why should NetFlix wind up taking the loss?

They most certainly do have them. Just don't use Netflix to cover your mistake.

Yeah, some one explained to me that whole Netflix thing. It's my mistake and I will pay for it.

Anyways I don't belong to Netfix.

Then I'd wait a bit for the list price to come down. There may even be a deal in a couple months when Season 2 comes out.

I want to thank everyone for trying to help.

I've following several avenues of attack.

I have an email into Target, finding out what my options are.

I'm going to give Paramount a call.

I just want to say again that I am sorry that this is in the wrong Forum, but everyone here has been super helpfull, as I work through this I will try and keep everyone informed!
