I have shelving units for each one, but no specific order, closer to date of purchase, but I re-shelve randomly after I watch. I'm hoping I never get to the point of alphabetizing my movies, even with over 10K DVDs, I never had to and I hope that continues.

I have 2 seperate areas for my movies.
I have a spinner and a rack which holds my 1000+ DVDs/HD movies which are movies we've watched. The DVDs & HD material are seperated, but sorted alphabetically.
The other area is a rack for movies that we havn't seen or are there for a re-watch. Everything here is also sorted alphabeticaly, but the SD DVD & HD material is seperated.
Maybe I'll get a pic up soon...

I keep Red with Red, Blue with Blue, the 2 never chat
Seriously, I like a uniform shelf..arranged alphabetically within each format
The BDs are 10:1 as compared to the HDDVDs in my house

I think I'd spend more time looking for movies than actually watching them.

I used to have all my high def stuff together alphabetically but I didn't like the way it looked so I made HD DVD/Blu-ray seperate from one another - harder for other people in the house looking for a movie (if they're unsure of format) but better for me

That is a lot of movies to like. You don't buy a single movie you don't like for pure comedic purposes?

I have the first shelf as red, the shelf under it as blue, and all the rest after that as standard def....my only exception is the Heroes HD box set which I keep with all of my other TV box sets (which are specifically separated from my movies) since it fits in there fine and doesn't stand out like the red/blue smaller cases do against standard DVD cases....

I just put it in the middle because is green.

RED upstairs with my A2. Blue downstairs with my PS3 & A3. The bigger 46" TV is downstairs. Since i do not have many titles yet, they are stored by Studio but once it grows, it'll be ALPHA order.
