Halloween "Rob Zombie" HD Talk....

Maybe I'm late, but I just seen the commercial for Rob Zombie's version of Halloween. Supposedly it's coming to DVD on Tuesday. However there was no mention of it coming to HD, so I was wondering if it's even going to be released?.... Has anyone heard anything?

I haven't seen any advertising for it in HD. I guess since it's Dimension (a Buena Vista company) it'd go on Blu Ray? Or with the whole Weinstein fiasco, did that change hands?

I think all Dimension films (as of the start of The Weinstein Company) are distributed by Weinstein, so that would explain no HD release.

Ah, ok. Although they have released a couple of titles on HD. Pulse, for some odd reason, was one of them.

The Weinstein Company has abandoned HDM, not having released a title since June and not having announced a single release since a couple of months before that. You'll probably see it on cable in high-def before you see it on HD DVD or Blu-ray.

Its Weinstein. They have stopped releasing on HD DVD for unknown reasons. There last release was Clerks II I believe. Regardless, all of their movies have come out 2 months after the DVD hit shelves. They do not do Day and Dates at all (Pulse, Clerks II, Black Xmas etc.)

I'm pretty sure Harsh Times and Black Christmas were their last two in June.

Did Weinstein not get the memo that day & date titles are what's selling? I'm sure 1408 and Halloween would sell alot better than Black Christmas, but that's just my opinion.

Because for some reason the Weinsteins are determined to make the wrong move every time. Their company has been nothing but a losing proposition almost from day one. I don't expect them to be around for very long.

Some interesting news regarding Weinstein. They've apparently blocked a German distributor from releasing some of their titles in HD DVD/Blu-ray(which were scheduled for this month). I'm not sure what that means regarding their plans.

Do you have a link for this news? It's the second time I've seen it mentioned. But I haven't seen anyone provide a source yet.

The titles are still up for pre-order at Amazon.de. Hopefully that's just a bogus rumor.

It looks like the news is coming from this post in a German DVD forum:

http://forum.cinefacts.de/showpost.p...8&postcount=29

In addition to the Germany releases, the Weinstein films Death Proof & Planet Terror have been announced in Finland, and 1408 has been announced in the Netherlands. Hopefully, those HD-DVDs won't get delayed.
