Optical Out Question

Trying to hook both my Toshiba A2 and PS3 up to my audio receiver. My receiver doesnt have an HDMI hookup so I have to use the one optical out. Is there such a thing as an optical out splitter so I can hook up both? Also would it be possible to hook my PS3 to my TV with an HDMI cable and then use my receiver that way?

Monoprice.com sells an optical splitter and I ordered it but it didn't work at all. YMMV.

I use this one for the same reason. Works fine, except it's manual.

^That looks like it does the opposite of what you want - splits one optical connection to two receivers. I don't know if it works the other way or not. Perhaps it doesn't, and that's why it didn't work for Defiant?

Well, the Monoprice one says it works both directions. I'd be interested in one of those myself, if there are no performance issues...

was only needing a 2x1; was hoping for something a little less bulky than the 3x1

I bought a cheap one from RadioShack that worked. Small, no switching needed.
