Reviewers: Galaxina HD DVD (uhhh, anyone viewed it yet?)

Probably the cheapest HD DVD title yet. It's only $11.06 at DeepDiscount, and after their 20% off, would be $8.85.

Might be worth getting just for kicks. Release date of 1-08-2008.

Any DVD Talk Reviewers have this in their que? Probably a long shot asking, but I was just curious about the video quality.

It's allegedly going to be released second week of '08. Ugh. It won't be discounted. Need to edit my post.

I haven't seen Galaxina, but I have seen both the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs on Ultimate Force, the first HD release from the same studio. Its 1080i and looks good, but not great.

We haven't gotten anything in from BCI yet on either format. Sorry.

Is there any nudity in this that would make it worth a purchase?

Because of the presence of Dorothy Stratton, I always wanted to see this. I had bought the original Rhino disc, but gave up watching it after about 10 minutes due to the horrible PQ including some poor panning and scanning.

I had this on pre-order when BCI originally announced it last year- but when they cancelled I took the opportunity of DDs last fall sale to get it.

Is anyone that is looking forward to the HD actually familiar with the film itself?
I realize taste is subjective, and I usually have a lot of love for films from the late 70s-early 80s, but this was a real struggle to get thru.
It was like they were going for an Airplane style of just throwing a lot of stuff out there, but almost none of it has any wit. The comedy is at the level of a cheesy 70s musical variety show.
Dorothy looks great, and there was potential in the premise, but none of it is close to being realized. Just a monumental mis-fire.
Due to the conditioin and style of the photogrphy, I don't expect people will be too excited over its HD presentation either.

No offense meant to fans of the film, just a caution to the unaware.
