DVD Talk No Longer Seeking Blu-ray Reviewers
We're have a spot on our DVD Talk review panel for people who are able and interested in reviewing HD DVD and Blu-Ray discs. We do not require that you be able to review both formats simultaneously; if you only own one format, feel free to apply.
If you are interested in being a part of the DVD Talk Review Panel please email me the following to [email protected]:
- A sample DVD Review [You will NOT be considered without a writing sample]
See: http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/hd.php for format examples
- The Genres you enjoy/would like to review.
- Which platform(s) you can view
- A detailed run down of the equipment specs you use to view discs, including the size and resolution of your television, player being used, and surround sound receiver.
- If you are interested in reviewing Adult DVDs as well and which genres you'd be interested in.
- Where you are located (Must be in US)
- Your Age
- What are your favorite DVDs and least favorite DVDs and why?
- What you think you can bring to the DVD Talk Review Panel?
Reviewers must be willing to review at least 4 discs per month and turn reviews around within 14 days of getting a disc. We send out hundreds of discs per month to our current review panel (of about 50 writers).
We have a great Review system designed from the ground up by a DVD reviewer which is centered around matching our reviewers with the movies they like.
Thanks,
Daniel
Note: We have filled the available spots for HD DVD reviewers. Thanks to all of you who applied. We are still currently looking at applications for Blu-ray.

haut: I'm currently going through all the submissions. I currently do not have a set time frame on when I will make any final decisions, but I will do my best to notify all applicants of my decisions.
braves: I will post here when I am no longer looking for submissions.
To everyone: I've received a lot of HD DVD applications, thanks to the A2 sale. If anyone has a Blu-ray player and would like to apply, please do so. Thanks.

Sorry for the long wait. Currently we have two new HD DVD reviewers, Stuart Galbraith IV and Randy Miller III. We have one or two others waiting in the wings as we go through final talks. At this point, that's more than enough people on the HD DVD side, especially given that HD DVD has a much smaller release slate in the next few weeks than Blu-ray. I'm still going through Blu-ray applications at the moment. Thank you all for your patience.

I actually have emailed those candidates that I felt were a good fit, but have yet to hear any responses. If people want to make last minute submissions, I'm still accepting.

Hmmmm, that makes me think I should submit, but it sounds like I need to do it tonight, right?
Let me know if I am too late, or if I should bother trying. I writes good.

I have to admit I am pretty disappointed I did not get any feedback on any negative aspects of my submission.
It would have been nice to know what I could fix to make my submissions better in the future.

At this point, I'm no longer accepting applications. Stuart Galbraith IV, who many of you know from his DVD reviews, has joined us as an HD DVD reviewer. Ryan Keefer has joined the stuff for both Blu-ray and HD DVD reviews.
Thank you to everyone who applied. I appreciated all of the interest. If you weren't selected this time, feel free to drop in another application during the next recruiting period.
