Man, the old Batman movie is hilarious. A BD release for it is great news.

I can't believe they're releasing that before the Burton movies.

Holy Blu-ray, Batman!
No mention of that yet? Once it hits a reasonable price point (re: not full MSRP) I'll grab it, if only because the Bat-Shark Repellent scene will never have looked more hilarious before than in HD. And the bomb scene. Can't forget the bomb scene. Or the music playing during it. |

http://shopping.discovery.com/product-70807.html Product Detail: Travel the world to break down the most astounding, complex engineering feats to date with architect Danny Forster. From the skyscrapers of Dubai to the amusement parks of Minnesota, explore the design and structure of these mega-constructions while learning first-hand knowledge and background facts about each site. Working with designers, engineers, builders, and those who work on these structures, discover the most dangerous, ingeniously executed aspects of each job. Super Fast Warship Go on board to see the construction of a U.S. Navy destroyer with host Danny Forster. Watch him get put to work around the ship through war games and get a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of this high tech vessel. Fault Zone Tunnel Go inside one of the most difficult and dangerous tunneling projects in the world. Join Danny outside of Los Angeles, as he travels with miners to dig two huge tunnels that supply fresh water to Southern California. Boot Camp Danny Forster's been on job sites all over the world, but to really learn how to operate construction equipment, he gets a crash course in everything from heavy equipment operation to getting lunch for the foreman. World's Tallest Skyscraper Danny climbs into the frame of the Shanghai World Financial Center – the tallest building in the world at its completion – venturing inside construction of this massive skyscraper. Battle Machines Danny heads to the Anniston Army Dept to re-assemble an Abrams tank. Along the way, he helps build components of this fighting machine, and after rolling off the assembly line, he tests the tank's firing range. Coaster Build Off Danny launches headlong into scream engineering – building, designing and riding some of the greatest roller coasters on the planet. Watch him work with two construction teams who create rides that are frightening and fun. Mountain of Steel Galicia, Spain, is spending half a billion dollars constructing a monumental cultural center on a hilltop overlooking the medieval city of Santiago Di Compostela. Danny Forster lends a hand erecting these six buildings in this wildly designed complex. Floating City Danny ventures from Finland to Florida to see how the world's biggest cruise ships are created and then sailed. He follows the construction of one of the 11-story floating cities and then boards a working sister ship for a behind the scenes look. Hurricane Proof Homes Danny explores the construction of heavy duty modular homes that are built to withstand 160 mph winds. Watch him join a team of 100 workers as they build an entire house in just five days. Then, follow him on a 200-mile journey in Mississippi to deliver the home to its new owners. Biggest Casino Danny participates in the construction of the Palazzo, Las Vegas' latest and greatest high-end hotel and casino that is 50-stories high. See him go "all in" as he wrangles massive steel beams, installs a cutting-edge bi-level casino floor and makes a terrifying climb up a 700-foot tower crane. Deepest Tunnel Danny holds on for dear life aboard a giant barge in the choppy Bosphorus Strait where he's caught up in the middle of an absolutely chaotic scene. Watch as workers submerge a 50 thousand-ton tunnel section – which will come to rest almost 200 feet below the surface. European Union Danny goes back to the future in Istanbul, Turkey – to find out how to tunnel through water and history. Once the capital of three empires, the city is now home to one of the most daring engineering projects on the planet: an ambitious revamp of their subway system that will consist of 47 miles of rail lines, three new underground stations, seven miles of bored tunnel and the centerpiece, a mile long tunnel linking Asia and Europe. High Risk Tower Danny goes inside the building of Trump's Tower in Chicago. Made entirely of reinforced concrete, making it the tallest formwork structure on the planet, he makes his way to the top floor of a construction project where crews have just 4 days to create the 30th floor of Trump's latest creation. Turbo-Charged Boats Danny travels down to Palm Beach, Florida to participate in the rebuilding and practice test of an offshore racing boat. After getting initiated by the crew, Danny enters the pit with the rest of the guys from AMF Offshore racing. Major League Stadium In Washington, DC, 800 workers attempt to design and build a $650 million baseball stadium in less than two years. Danny finds out if they can finish the 41,000-seat Nationals stadium and helps complete the largest scoreboard in the US. |
Re: Point Break...
100% Pure HD Adrenaline!
Yeah, I'll be grabbing this one permitting (and it seems this way) this is one of Fox's decently packaged releases. |
The decision to release Point Break wouldn't have anything to do with the unfortunate condition of one of its stars, would it?
BTW, the specs have an English DD 5.1 track listed along with the DTS-HD MA. Is that a first for Fox? I know there were a few people on AVS that wanted it because they could apply dynamic range compression, so they wouldn't disturb the neighbors as much. |

Point Blank remains one of my guilty pleasures but Fox, $39.99 on a catalogue title. I'll wait.

On the other hand, if To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar is suddenly announced for Blu-ray, then I'll be a little suspicious. |

In general - not now, but certainly in the 80's to early 90's. Point Break was his next theatrical release after a little film called Ghost. |
