Oddly this is the only HD title I have been able to find in months. Go figure.

I was afraid of that (my copy finally shipped Thursday from DVDPlanet, so I won't have it for a couple weeks).

That pisses me off, especially because the HD DVD reviews on ign.com http://dvd.ign.com/articles/820/820705p2.html and dvdfanatic http://www.dvdfanatic.com/news.php?id=0709232 say "Finding Ben Stone" IS included.

This took FOREVER to play on my 360 Add-On. From what I read....it has to download a cookie that is 11MB and it took 10 minutes or so to download. It just stayed at the LOADING screen for a good long time. I thought something was broke....

Anyways, glad I rented it....not GREAT, but funny...a bit long for my comedy tastes as it dragged at points.

Mericifully my Knocked Up combo played fine on my up to date A20. I don't use the extra features so I don't know about those.

Yeah it took a long time to load on my 360 as well. I was prepared for it though as I read it on another forum.

I got Knocked Up at SuperTarget. -Oh, that sounds delightfully hilarious.

I watched it last night for the first time and while it was good it was not nearly as funny as Superbad. It was more like a feel-good chick flick with some vulgar jokes thrown in.

I'll agree....2hrs15mins is long for a comedy also. It did have some GREAT "guy" moments though. I guess that is why it was successful movie...appealed to both audiences.

If you're disappointed about the release, say so. I don't understand why yet ANOTHER combo disc thread has to be put up. This is more about it being a combo disc than anything. The quality of the HD transfer is fine.

Actually it was more about it lacking the extras on the 2 disc SD.

This movie was mostly about (and for) dork losers fulfulling a wet dream fantasy of having a relationship (sex) with a hot chick...because dork losers know that real hot chicks love movies about movie star hot chicks who have a relationship (sex) with guys like themselves.

Yeah...in their dreams.

Real hot chicks are looking for George Cloony.

Then either rent the DVD to watch the featurette and own the HD-DVD to watch the movie, or own the DVD to watch the featurette and rent the HD-DVD to watch the movie. I see no reason to suffer watching a movie in standard def if I don't have to.

I finished watching it last night, no problems with the feature movie on my A1.

I don't think that watching this movie in 480p is "suffering" as much as the lack of that featurette is. That's all.

I used to agree with that, but SD just looks muddy blown up to 122".

Well, shit, my display is less than half that. I mean really, how many people are watching something blown up that big? Not to mention, anything not in HD will look like shit blown up that big, including any and all suplemental materials.

I always thought that's what it was. IIRC, the marketing even leaned toward the chick-flick vibe.

Well, I took a chance and bought the HD version. Luckily, nothing too terrible happened. I had 3 freeze-ups that lasted 1 second each. It was mostly when the movie was going to the next scene. Right at the end of the last scene, the picture froze for a second. I replayed all 3 sequences and they played flawless. I really hope the new G3 machines will finally, once and for all, be able to playback all discs without a hitch.

Yeah, I'm watching on a 119" screen. I still watch some SD (just rented Death Proof), but I can't imagine ever watching the SD version with an HD version available.

I have a 71" screen in my home theater and I couldn't endure a blurry standard transfer if I had an HD choice. But its not just screen size, as I have a 50" plasma and 42" LCD and again, the difference is too much to settle for standard if HD is available.

I've got a 133" screen, & I can still watch upconverted SDs... but NOT immediately after watching something in HD, otherwise it does look like crap... need some time between to adjust for the difference. That's one reason why SD extras on HD discs are pretty worthless to me.

I watched my Netflix copy last night, there was a little jitter in the picture near the beginning, but it played flawless until about 15 minutes from the end, and I got a hard crash on my player. Couldn't go back, forward, couldn't even stop the player. Had to pull the plug and reboot the player. The only other times I had a hard crash were with Children of Men and Hot Fuzz (both convieniently Universal Combo titles, and even more interesting, both crashed around 15 minutes from the end of the movie).

While the player was booting back up, I thought, "What the heck" and boiled the disc in a pot of water. As mentioned before with combo discs, there was a oily residue that rose to the top of the water. I rinsed the disc off with a little soapy water, I was able to resume the movie where I left off without any problems.

^You shouldn't have to unplug your player after a crash. Just holding the on button down for eight seconds should shut it down, as is the case for most PCs. This is mentioned in the manual for the A1 and I assume it is the same for other models.

I am in the same boat as you. I like combo discs also and I couldn't give a rats ass about art work on a disc.

Awesome news indeed. Just need Uni to follow suit.

Also, I have Knocked Up at home but haven't tried it yet with my A20 2.5.

I haven't seen the movie yet so I will be extra pissed if the disc doesn't work.
Isn't that about the time when they are expected to be picking a side (HD-DVD vs BD)? Hmmmm, maybe there is another reason why they won't be pressing combos anymore....
