There's an HD-DVD of Terminator 2 due for release in Germany that will be loaded with extras, unlike the versions currently available in France and the U.K.

Also coming out there soon are HD-DVD versions of Crank, Death Proof, Hannibal Rising and TV's CSI, all of them featuring web-based extras.

Dutch Filmworks is releasing titles on both HD DVD and Blu-ray, including some that aren't available on these shores. A list has been posted to AVS.

I'm not sure if the longer list at the end of the post is also from Dutch Filmworks or from another studio in the region, but they include Buena Vista titles like Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, The Sixth Sense, and Unbreakable.

Nice to see There Will Be Blood has a release date already!!

Looks like the US theatrical release is through Miramax while the home video release is through Paramount. How strange.

Any release date information given yet on Death Proof? I am going to withhold buying the BB exclusive in order to get it in HD. Just wondering how long the wait may be.

'The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At Monterey (The Definitive Edition)' On HD DVD

Universal Music has indicated that we can expect The Jimi Hendrix Experience: Live At Monterey (The Definitive Edition) released on single-disc HD DVD in the United Kingdom, this October 29 (day-and-date with the single-disc DVD).

This special edition DVD/HD DVD features all of the existing film footage from Jimi’s incendiary June 18, 1967 concert newly transferred to high-definition specification from the original 16mm camera reversal original. Re-edited and presented in its original performance sequence, this DVD/HD DVD showcase of a legendary performance is completely unreleased. The DVD soundtrack, also available on CD and Vinyl, features a new 5.1 surround and 2.0 stereo mixes by Eddie Kramer, Jimi’s original engineer.

In addition to the legendary Monterey performance, this Definitive Edition DVD/HD DVD features a multitude of special bonus features including:

*AMERICAN LANDING
A brand new documentary which traces Jimi’s remarkable transformation from obscurity to his triumphant U.S. ‘debut’ at the Monterey Festival.

*THE JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE: LIVE AT MONTEREY: A SECOND LOOK
A unique feature that allows viewers to switch between multiple, previously unseen camera angles to view several of Jimi’s celebrated performances like never before.

*MUSIC, LOVE & FLOWERS:THE MONTEREY INTERNATIONAL POP FESTIVAL
This is a behind the scenes glimpse of the festival’s origins, operations and lasting impact brought to you by legendary composer, producer and Monterey Festival co-founder Lou Adler.

*EARLIEST KNOWN UNRELEASED PERFORMANCES
As an extra special bonus to the DVD, watch the earliest known film and sound recordings of The Jimi Hendrix Experience in concert from February 25, 1967 before a packed audience in Chelmsford, England. Songs featured are “Stone Free” and “Like A Rolling Stone.”

I believe I read that Les Triplettes de Belleville doesn't have English subtitles, although really, there's so little dialogue that I don't think anyone would have a problem importing it.

There's only about 3 lines of dialogue in the whole movie, plus some incidental background chatter. None of it is of any significance to the storytelling. The movie is perfectly import-friendly regardless of subtitles.

I actually saw this very thing on YesAsia and was going to post it here. I've been teetering on whether or not to buy the Korean Limited Edition w/ dts for quite some time now. Instead, I think I'll be importing this bad boy.

My UK version of Mulholland Drive just shipped.
I wonder if it's any different than the previously released French version?

It better be different, the pitch problem was annoying on the French release.

Just ordered the Dutch Reservoir Dogs release from Xploited...first HD import, and first import PERIOD. Heard this is a good release too IIRC.

Quick question: does anyone have the 3 Days of the Condor release? I wanted to know if the quality was any good and if there was a way to remove the forced subtitles on it.

From all the bits I've read about the Twilight Samurai HD-DVD, it looks like English subs are NOT available on that edition. Bummer.
