Trailer.

In Beirut, five women meet regularly in a beauty salon, a colorful and sensual microcosm of the city
where several generations come into contact, talk and confide in each other. Layale loves Rabih, but Rabih is married.
Nisrine is Muslim and her forthcoming marriage poses a problem; she is no longer a virgin.
Rima is tormented by her attraction to women and especially to a lovely client with long hair.
Jamale is refusing to grow old. Rose has sacrificed her life to take care of her elderly sister.

In the salon, their intimate and liberated conversations revolve around men, sex and motherhood,
between haircuts and sugar waxing with caramel.

Does anyone have Flashpoint or Invisible Target on Blu-Ray? I was just curious how the image quality is on those releases.

Anyone know where I can get Blu-Ray discs in Tokyo and Paris?

Really keen on picking up "Tell No One".

and you can ask for a paper that will allow you a tax refund (when you go back at airport, if I remember correctly) but you have to spend 200 or 250$ and the same place

Set to be released in Spain on March 18th by SONY. Technical info isn't available at the moment.

Variety:

A Sony Pictures Releasing (Spain) release of a Nickel Odeon Dos production, with participation of TVE, Telemadrid, Canal Plus. (International sales: Nickel Odeon Dos, Madrid.) Produced by Jose Luis Garci. Executive producer, Salvador Gomez Cuenca. Directed, edited by Jose Luis Garci. Screenplay, Garci, Horacio Valcarcel, based on a story by Ramon Perez de Ayala.

With: Alfredo Landa, Paula Echevarria, Alex Gonzalez, Kiti Manver, Manuel Galiana, Toni Acosta, Carlos Larranaga, Andrea Tenuta, Enrique Villen, Francisco Algora.

A stately, well-crafted, sometimes potent period drama about a family tragedy in a northern Spanish village, "Sunday Light" again shows Jose Luis Garci far from cinema's cutting edge. Helmer's trademarks are top-notch visuals, sentimentality, literariness, characters conceived theatrically rather than realistically and an unashamedly old-fashioned shooting style, all of which are present and correct here. Garci buffs will lap it up, but "Light" looks unlikely to illuminate non-Spanish-speaking territories. Local biz has been good for the Nov. 16 release.

In early 20th-century Spain, Urbano (Alex Gonzalez) arrives in a small village to be a secretary at the town hall. He falls for Estrella (Paula Echeverria), the daughter of local landowner Joaco (Alfredo Landa). Politically, the town is split in two, with the forces of evil repped by mayor Atila (Carlos Larranaga). Urbano tries to remain neutral but, shortly before his wedding to Estrella, his neutrality is punished when she's raped by Atila's sons. Classic treatment means pic's themes never become remotely contemporary and most characters, apart from Landa's Joaco, are brushstrokes. Lovingly lensed scenery and lush score further root things in the cinematic past.

Camera (color), Felix Monti; music, Pablo Cervantes; art directors, Gil Parrondo, Julian Mateos. Reviewed at Cines Acteon, Madrid, Nov. 19, 2007. Running time: 111 MIN.

What other ones...I thought that the titles above did not need translation. Post the ones you are unsure about...

SONY is set to promote Spanish-language cinema. The first three titles are already announced, cover works are on the back, (and I posted the info here). Here's a pic from the event:

I just wish some of these movies didn't cost an arm and a leg to buy.

Not sure if it was mentioned elsewhere here, but the Japanese Blu-Ray release of Michel Ocelot's Azur & Asmar has English subs, unlike the French DVD.
