That is very disappointing to hear. From what I can tell, they haven't released a bare-bones disc yet, until this one. They were doing so well.

Yeah, but neither one of those had any features on the DVD either. This is the first time Paramount is deliberately stripping off features found on the comparable DVD edition.

Well, guess that means I'll be holding onto the 2 Disc set I have and not dropping dough on the BR release. Sadly since it's one of my favorite movies.

If there's one well I'd jump into for the 1000th time, it would be hi-def releases of those movies. Note to Paramount: THAT's a set I'd pay $217 for.

In terms of TV on HD DVD and BD, I actually think that something like Cheers would like pretty great. They did re-master all the episodes, I believe, and the DVDs look rather nice...it was all shot on film, after all.... Of course, CBS/Paramount would actually have to release the final three seasons on DVD first....

here's to hoping that todays announcement will get some of these recently on dvd catalog titles over to HD quick
