Has anyone noticed that the the ads on TV for the DVD show a different coverart depending on the ads. Most of the ads show the coverart as being based on the theatrical one sheet whereas other ads feature that craptacular cover that I linked too earlier in this thread. What's the deal with that? Is the blue theatrical coverart for a two-disc set? If so, will that also be the cover for the HD DVD release?

Anyone find it locally around you for $24.99? Fry's has it for $28.88. Not what I'd call a sale. I'm callin around target, best buy, and others. I'll update what I find out.

$28.88 is definately not a deal by any means, hell I could get it at Borders for that much, actually about a dollar cheaper. Have you tried Wal*Mart?

No haven't tried walmart yet I never see any blu-rays when I go there. If I can't find atleast $24.99 I'm getting it on A-zon. Anyone have any luck locally?
EDIT: Seems like Target isn't carrying the blu-ray version. One store said they have it but not for blu-ray.

I went with the Bd on this one and the disc art alone made it a worthy purchase for me... Being a longtime Leo fan, I was really happy with the disc art, and the movie itself looks great!

I noticed this movie was available on X-box 360 marketplace, in HD no less, same day as the DVD/HD versions were in stores. Anyone have any idea on how picture quality (at 1080i) compares between the HD-DVD and the Marketplace HD version?

I bought my HD DVD copy yesterday at Wal-Mart for $29.95. Love the picture and audio. I iwsh the extras were more substantial and that i could watch the deleted scenes without the commentary.

I've watched part of it already. And while I don't like the CGI art style. The picture is deffinatly really crisp. And the story so far seems to be a bit deeper than I expected.

I too noticed this:
I'm not sure you can rate something 4.5/5 with this kind of problems. I found it pretty distracting.
The only technical downside to the transfer is that there are several instances of color banding -- most noticeably in nighttime scenes when large expanses of the sky are visible overtop the city. This "stair-stepped" effect seems to haunt most animated movies I've watched in high-def and is a subtle distraction in an otherwise top notch visual presentation.

I watched it too. I liked it, decent story, cool action, and a nice climactic ending. Had some decent humor in there too. And the rain sequence is deffinatly a "DEMO" moment for sure. The movie's good, but I don't know if it's worthy of owning.

Well, I think for any true turtle fan it's worth owning. It's head and shoulders above Turtles 3 and ranks up there with the first one IMO. Yeah, the actual plot lacks, but the action scenes are great, the interplay between the turtles is the same as it always was and the rooftop fight between Ralph and Leo makes the disc worth owning. I think the sequel to this one has the potential to be the definitive Turtle flick if they stick to the basics (Shredder vs. TMNT).
After Turtles 3, my expectations were in check (and after rewatching the first two, which don't age well) and I think this movie overall delivered... I think anyone expecting a whole lot more might have been asking for too much too soon.

I had a strange thing happen when I tried to play this on my PS3. I could not get the TrueHD audio to work. I would choose it from the popup menu, but it would still only output the DD soundtrack. I could switch to the foreign language tracks, but absolutely could not get the TrueHD stream to work (my receiver still displayed DD 5.1 as the sound instead of PCM as it should have). It was a rental from BB, but the disc looked to be in perfect shape.

Are we talking about the same movie?
You guys are talking about this movie like its the Godfather, pt.1. lol
The whole time I'm watching this movie it reminded me of Jimmy Neutron - The comedy in this film was on the lines of poorly made Nickolodeon film (ie; Good Burger)
This was another blind buy that I regret.
The other being Ghost Rider
Than again - to each their own.

Two very different takes at DVD Talk:
HD DVD (by yours truly)
Blu-ray (by John Sinnott)
