Judging by past history on their high profile new releases, this one will probably be a nice 2-disc set with HD extras. And since they'll start releasing titles with lossless audio soon, I'm sure this will get TrueHD for HD DVD and a PCM mix for BD. I don't think anyone has been blown away by any of Summer's offerings and I think this will be the event movie that all ages are going to see. I've been a huge Transormers fan since the cartoon first aired, but I think this is going to appeal to everyone. I hope it does well to allow for a sequel.

This title has the potential to become the new reference disc on BOTH formats.

I believe this would be the first title involving Spielberg (he's executive producer). Assuming he doesn't block it from being released, it could pave the way for others. Perhaps this could be that title that is rumored to get DTS-HD MA on both formats because of Spielberg's ties to DTS?

I thought a December date was mentioned over at AVS - of course, it's probably just a rumour.

This title will definitely be a holiday release to push the formats.

There is no release date right now so the rumor on AVS is false.

Please, please make sure that the BD gets PCM lossless audio. It could turn out to be the hottest blu-ray seller this holiday season if it does!

Ideally, both formats would have lossless audio. I cannot wait to get this in HD.

Sadly, the animated movie will be Blu-Ray only. Well, sad for non-BD supporters (like me). Great for BD and dual format folk, however.

Yes, hopefully a loaded 2-disc set. This will definitely be the biggest selling HD movie at that point... I would guess (hope) it could sell 100,000 in it's first wk.

No idea where they got the date fro, but UK store Blah have it listed as December 3rd (My Birhtday ) over here in the UK, so I would imagine the US release will be on or before that date.

Just saw this last night at a screening and I just have to say I can not wait for it to be on HD-DVD. Assuming it has Dolby TrueHD, it will be the shining disc in my collection to demo.

Nope, he also produced Eastwood's Flags & Iwo Jima, which both hit HD and BR.

Nope, according to DVDEmpire the Paramount/Dreamworks Blades of Glory BD & HDDVD will supposedly be the first with a lossless track, though Jiggawhat says that he doesn't see a TrueHD track on the HD-DVD disc in the Paramount lossless thread.

Yeah his info contradicted the info on DVDEmpire so I asked him in the same thread but he hasn't gotten back to us yet.

Even if there's no secure date, it has to come out before the holiday. Kelley Avery & Co. would have to be idiots to not release this. I'd even release it on HD DVD and Blu-Ray a week or two prior.

Seriously, where can I pre-order this?

When I watched this movie one of the things I kept thinking about was "I really need to upgrade my system!"

I just got back from watching the movie and there is a scene in it where a guy is holding a 360 in his hand, then they show a Mountain Dew machine next...both having to do with Microsoft, so I'm almost certain it will be on HD-DVD.

Currently don't have either HD format, but after watching Transformers today this title might make me finally jump in.
