Now... to decide what to do with it! Since Amazon's $237 player is unlikely to return (at that price) I'm probably going to play the waiting game and hope Toshiba drops the price further or does another temporary $100 slash down the road. Alternately, Best Buy starting to offer up 4 or 5 in-store movies along with the player could sway me, as well, particularly since the mail-away offer is of no interest to me.

Since Amazon's $237 player is unlikely to return (at that price) I'm probably going to play the waiting game and hope Toshiba drops the price further or does another temporary $100 slash down the road. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably gamble by purchasing at $299 from Amazon and watching for the next 30 days to see if the price dropped (so I could get a price adjustment). It would be worth it to me even at $299.
But I've already got an XA1.
Watched A Scanner Darkly last night with my wife on our 720p projector - simply amazing!

Well, I see it as "just" a player -- the bridge between an HD movie and my plasma -- so despite hitting $240, I'd prefer it to be even cheaper. If the price does in fact go back down, then I'd gamble and still hope for it to drop again in that 30 days.

I just remind myself how it saves us $100 when we stay home and watch a movie vs. getting a babysitter and going out. Yeah, it save us money.
