Hard Boiled Blu-Ray Coming Packaged with Stanglehold PS3 Game!
I didn't see this posted, so I will post the news article. Apparently, if you buy the Collector's edition of Stanglehold for the PS3, you will get Hard Boiled the movie in High Def. Pretty good deal for paying $10 extra for the game.

PS3 Stranglehold getting Hard Boiled
$70 Collector's Edition of Midway's action game will come with a high-def version of John Woo's classic action film; new exclusive trailer inside.

This summer, Midway Games expects to ship Stranglehold for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Today, gamers sitting on the fence about which version to buy got an incentive to pick up the PS3 version--or, more accurately, the special Collector's Edition for the PS3.
Like many collector's editions, Stranglehold: CE will have special packaging and a slightly higher price point of $69.99, $10 more than the regular version. However, the boxed set will have one major extra--a full-length copy of Hard Boiled, a 1992 Hong Kong action film. Both the game and the movie will be on the same Blu-ray disc.
Directed by John Woo, Hard Boiled follows Inspector "Tequila" Yuen, a maverick Hong Kong police detective, as he brings down a ring of vicious gunrunners. Though it features some similar scenes, including a take on the iconic tea house shootout, Strangehold is intended as a sequel to the film. In both, Tequila is played by Chow Yun-Fat, whose likeness, voice, and motion-captured movements appear in the game, which is being codeveloped by Woo's Tiger Hill games studio and Midway Chicago.
It's Tequila time...in HD!
Stranglehold: Collector's Edition will mark the first time a game and Blu-ray movie have been released in a single package. In North America, the initial run of PS3 hardware came bundled with a Blu-ray version of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. In the UK, the launch batch of PS3s included a copy of the latest James Bond film, Casino Royale. According to recent video-industry news reports, Blu-ray sales are currently outpacing those of the rival HD-DVD format, which is supported by Xbox 360 maker Microsoft.

If the game is good, that's an awesome deal. If not, a standalone version of Hard Boiled would be better. But at the moment the buzz on the game is pretty positive.

This is undoubtedly a dumb question, but how is the game connected to the movie?

Wow, sounds awesome. Looking forward to the hospital shootout in hi-def, so hopefully it will be a clean transfer. Wasn't planning on picking up any more games till I've caught up with my current stuff, but this will be an exception.

I hope we eventually get a standalone version. I'm not spending 70 bucks for Hard Boiled in HD. Just out of curiosity, will it come in it's own Blu-ray case?

That leaves 40 gigs or so of space available on the PS3 disk.

Yeah, I'm guessing no special features. Still, considering what most games offer with their LE packages, this is a great deal if you were already interested in the game.

I agree that it's a much better offer than most bullshit video game LE offerings, but it's only good if the transfer and sound are excellent. And if the game is on the same disc, we can pretty much rule out lossless audio.

I'd rather look it as for $30 more I get a game to go with it.
This is intriguing, to say the least.
There's no reason for the 360 disc to not do the same thing. (Same release, another disc)
