Pulled the trigger on an HD-A20
Was torn between the A2 or the A20 considering my current tv does not have an HDMI input and is 1080i. Went with the A20 because it was only $100 more and I would hate to regret not having 1080p support when I buy a new tv in the next year or two. I was a bit worried about not having an HDMI input but read on avsforum that I would be able to use a HDMI-->DVI cable. Promptly picked up Planet Earth HD and Dune HD. Will selectively upgrade but I was most interested in upconverting my SD right now.
Price for the A20 was bouncing around the past 2 days but I was able to snag it for $414.73. Can I pricematch to a lower price on Amazon over the next 30 days?
Also, I love Amazon Prime as it was only $1.99 for each item for overnight shipping.

So did I...finally gave in and got the Toshiba A20 as well. Was a fence sitter and admittedly was looking into getting a BluRay player. But patience isn't really much of a virtue of mine in regards to these "toys for boys" and couldn't really justify spending that much for a standalone Blu Ray machine. So I got myself the A20 and into the HD DVD camp (the A20 came with 3 free HD DVDs).
Now I'm so happy with the new machine and impulsively got 4 more HD DVD titles!!!

Well I am happy with the system and have been pinging Amazon everytime they dropped the price over the last two weeks. I believe my total out the door for the HD-A20 is $368. Duen was awesome and I also picked up Planet Earth which is jaw dropping as well.

I went with the HD-A2. My TV doesn't support 1080p but does use HDMI, so it seemed like the best choice. Also picked up a new Sony receiver with two HDMI inputs and a couple component inputs (for gaming) while I was at it.

The Toshiba deal appears to be paying off. Looks like we're getting more new HD members lately. I also saw a lady last night at Circuit City buying the A2. I would certainly classify her as a "J6P".

Congrats to all the new HD owners. I'd be what's considered an "early adopter" as I have an A1 that I bought last year.
That said, I own 58 HDDVDs and it's been a great player for me. Great upconversion, wonderful HD presentation. Enjoy your purchases, and welcome to the fold!q
