Dante's Peak and Daylight HD-DVD

I am a fan of this movie and would have bought it sans reviews just to get rid of my current copy with the horrible new artwork they slapped on it a couple years ago. The original movie poster was so nice and elegant while the new artwork is tacky and cheap looking. I was hoping since HD DVD is for the lowest common denominator yet it would have the descebt artwork but I guess I am wrong. In case anyone is wondering, yes Daylight is in the same boat with the cheesy new artwork. A real shame in my mind.

both movies scream out for DDTrueHD soundmixes - the DTS laserdisc I own of 'Dante's Peak' is sound system threatening.

The original Dante's Peak cover art was awesome. Looks like this is one I'm hoping someone will re-do.

Are you hoping for better cover art to cover up the movie that's inside?

I have never been someone who cared about cases or coverart, but in the case of Dante's Peak and Daylight the new covers are so horrid it actually hurts to look at them. I like both movies even Daylight which tends to get rather negative reviews.

I haven't seen Daylight, but I found Dante's Peak, despite being a bit over the top, to be entertaining. Now I haven't viewed the film in 3-4 yrs so that opinion may change come July.
