Target May 22nd HD/BR Releases

I just saw the list of high def movies that Target will be getting on May 22nd. Hopefully they are advertised at prices like NatM and Deja Vu. I guess I'll have to wait for Speedy to get the ads at the end of the week.

HD:
Flags of our Father
Letters from Iwo Jima
40 Year Old Virgin

Blu Ray:
Pirates
Pirates 2
Apocalypto
Flags of our Father
Letters from Iwo Jima

I'm kinda bummed there is no Matrix on HD, but this is a big step for Target to get all of these for release day.

Yep, you can check my track record with Target stores. I posted about the Dreamgirls being a 3-disc exclusive, WTC being a 3-disc exclusive, and when the HD section was going to be updated. I should have checked to see how much regular price was, but didn't think about it. I can find this out on Thursday (but Speedy will probably have the ad by then anyway).

If those 5 blu-rays show up, I wonder which 5 they are replacing. It certainly would be nice if they expand the unit instead.

If none are on sale, I would say all 5 Blu-ray titles will be $29.99

on HD DVD, I would guess:

40 Year Old Virgin: $24.99
Flags of Our Fathers: $29.99
Letters from Iwo Jima: $34.99 or $39.99

Here are the prices and DPCI numbers (Target's numbering system) for each movie:

Pirates BR - 058-27-0057 - $29.99
Pirates 2 BR - 058-27-0059 - $29.99
Flags BR - 058-27-0060 - $29.99
Flags HD - 058-27-0061 - $29.99
40 Year Old Virgin HD - 058-27-0062 - $24.99
Letters BR - 058-27-0063 - $29.99
Letters HD - 058-27-0064 - $34.99
Apocalypto BR - 058-27-0131 - $29.99

Remember, these are the normal selling price so the advertised price might be less.

Wow, is that going to be a pricey day. I want all of those (well, I don't need 40 Year Old Virgin since I have the extended DVD).

I'm in for both Pirates and 40 Year Old Virgin. Hopefully somebody runs a deal on some of these that week...

I never saw Dreamgirls. Why did Target not get that high-profile release?

My only guess for this is Target wanted to sell more of their 3 disc exclusive. Other than that I can't think of a reason to not carry Dreamgirls.

The May 20-27 ads have been posted for Target in the bargains thread.

Apocalypto $24.99
Letters from Iwo Jima BD: $24.99, HD DVD: $29.99

Hopefully Target keeps up this trend of putting BD new releases on sale the first week.

No mention of the Pirates movies.
