Blu-Ray for me since I own a PS3. And I'm a gamer as well as a Home Theatre enthusiast. I'm also in my late 30s so don't think all of us PS3 owners are young kids who only watch Beerfest or Casino Royales (which I both own, btw).

canceled my Warner pre-order and may not order it from Amazon. I have every episode on Tivo and the HD/BD versions dont have a lot of the supplemental material so why should I bother?

Oh and if you cancled your WB order you jusrt lost out on your discount as the codes no longer work (stackable) for 57$ for 4 discs was a pretty good deal IMO.....

I have been waiting for a definative winner on the hd side b4 I support a format but this release makes me want hd right now?
I remember reading that hd-dvd generally had better bicture quality than bluray. Does this still hold true (it's been awhile since I did any research on the subject)

It's a bit of a loaded question and you'll have advocates for both sides. Unfortunately, a "definitive winner" is unlikely... at least in the short term. In my opinion only, both formats should (theoretically) be able to provide identical -- fantastic -- quality. In practice, I find the HD DVD releases have generally been better in terms of quality and extras.
HD DVD has the lower start up price (about $300 and/or including free movies) and (again, in my opinion) better titles. So, that's what I'd pick.

Yup thats why i decided to sell my drive and all of my movies. The sound was really low and microsoft wouldn't bring any update so i gave up and went blu.

audio isn't an issue for me with this title. video - my tv is 720p/1080i anyway and I am sure most people buying this set can not take advantage of the 1080p anyway.
i bought it from warner but i was a day late on one or 2 codes so it was $67 for me anyway. i can get it a dollar cheaper on amazon right now.
i am not saying i will never buy it. heck, i may buy it today from amazon. i may wait a year...who knows.

Looks like Amazon does not have enough supply to meet the demand. Does Amazon order too few discs or are too few discs produced?
On Amazon, this is posted for Planet Earth HD DVD and Blu-ray:
- To our valued customers: Due to overwhelming demand, we are temporarily back-ordered on Planet Earth. You may still purchase this title, and we'll send it to you as soon as our new stock arrives in May.

Ended up getting the HD DVD... Didn't even have a choice... 2hours after open I got the very last high def version of it. Both were sold out (after mine).
Every online shop seems to be sold out now too... Amazon.ca bumped up the price by $10 and now says shipping in 1-3 months.
Looks like this was a monster seller

www.hddvdworld.com has both versions in stock. $69.99 with free shipping using HighDef code at checkout. Great site BTW.

I ended up getting the HD from amazon for $60 (they applied a $7 discount during check-out). But yeah, it's not expected to ship out until May 7th - WTF!
I guess that's what you get when B&M stores like Best Buy aren't even stocking the HD version, and charging full MSRP for the SD version...

The Best Buy near me had like 8 of both HD-DVD and Blu-ray in stock. He said the reason they didn't show up in the inventory this morning when i checked was that they had JUST received them today.
BB has the price at $99.99 but i brought in a printout of Target's online price of $66.99 and they matched that without blinking an eye.
Good luck guys! Can't wait to throw this in tonight...

So I just got my copy of PE HD-DVD in the mail and went to go put it in my 360 Add-On and after it shows the Anti-Piracy disclaimer, the 2 Entertain logo, and the BBC HD logo, the player locks up and doesnt do anything... no menu, no chapter skip, no nothing... I tried all 4 discs, restarted the player over and over and still it does nothing... anyone else having issues???

No its not... I could try that. That is what I was thinking it could be as well but I thought that why would it play the titles but not the actual program itself... I figured it would be like all of nothing kind of thing... no?
