^^^You can get it through your PC and put it on a flash drive. Check www.playstation.com for details.

Thanks for the reply. I did search the playstation.com website, but I didn't see any mention at all about downloading an upgrade.

Have you actually seen for sure if you can download an upgrade from their website, or are you just assuming you should be able to (which I too would have assumed you could).
