Take into consideration the film, audio/video quality, and special features - NOT only the film!

The Departed was awesome and apparently the DVD version is a mediocre transfer according to a few people so I'm glad I grabbed it on HD DVD.
The HD DVD looked and sounded great and it was the best picture so what more could you ask for.

Because The Departed is missing the Scorsese on Scorsese documentary that's on the 2-disc SD-DVD, I'll give the edge to The Prestige. I've been really impressed with Buena Vista's Blu-ray output lately.

It's a toss-up between The Departed and The Prestige for me...I liked The Departed a bit more than The Prestige, but as has been stated, The Departed was missing Scorsese on Scorsese and the special features for The Prestige were in HD. Still, the features for The Prestige were lacking...I'll probably give the edge to The Departed. Both looked and sounded amazing.
