Chronicles of Narnia: LW&W Blu Ray- When?

Was wondering if anyone had any inside scoop on this title. Word is it looked jaw dropping on a demo at CES but no word has been forthcoming since.

Let's hope they aren't saving it for the sequel's release, which isn't until May '08. I would say we'll see it around Christmas time this year. Since there have already been 3 dvd versions, I wonder what they'll take from those, plus will they give us the theatrical or extended version? I'm betting theatrical.

I would bet theatrical with barely any of the extras.

This is Disney: give them a little bit of credit. I would say a version with all of the previous extras sometime in the fall.

The title has been featured in Disney blu-ray ads, so it probably will be coming this year.

Uhh...why should we? Very few of their movies thus far have included all the extras.

I haven't heard one positive comment/review of the EE on DVD. I think I'd rather have the theatrical cut.

They haven't worked out seamless branching yet.

Alien vs. Predator supposedly has seamless branching.

Most, if not all of their releases after the 2 initial waves have ported over all of the standard DVD extras.

So has there ever been confirmation that it really is seamless branching and not a pseudo-branching thing like Lionsgate did with the PiP commentary.

Yes they have.

It's true seamless branching, unless Fox happened to figure out a way to fit two full MPEG2 transfers with DTS-MA tracks in 32gb of space.

From the AVS BD tech spec thread

Alien Vs. Predator MPEG-2 1:40:41/1:48:35 32,437,949,827

Well I finally got this disc and in case anyone was still wondering here are my findings:

There are NOT two encodes of the movie. It is definitely true seamless branching. The movie is split up into about 35 different files. Which all add up to about 30GB.

I am also going to have say that Fox is short-changing themselves when they put 18Mbps on the back cover. Based on what I've seen it is actually in the mid-20s. Around 25Mbps maybe. I've noticed that at least a couple of other Fox movies have been way off in what they say on the cover. See Transporter 2 and Fantastic Four for example.

With all the split files and the seamless branching I can't really do an exact calculation though. I updated my list with the other information.
