Armageddon needs to have a new master made in high-definition so it won't be any time soon.

The Abyss will also not be any time soon since they are waiting on James Cameron's approval of the HD master.

I wouldn't expect Can't Buy Me Love for a long time. Outside of the two animated classics, I don't think Disney has released anything made before the 90s. The DVD was fullscreen only, so they probably don't think much of it.

I want all of the Godzilla films, especially those from '54-85.

I see that there are some Japanese editions coming out soon. Anyone know what the odds that these will include English subs are? Do many Jap BD's contain a multitude of subtitle options?

If it's like their DVDs, it's unlikely. It was pretty rare when a DVD had English subtitles. Of the dozen or so DVDs I've collected from Japan, only one, an Ultraman movie, had English subtitles.

Maybe we'll get lucky with the BDs. My fingers are crossed.

"His Name Was Jason" by Anchor Bay included Movie cash for the Newline/Paramount 2009 flick. Of course, the re-re-release Paramount DVDs/BDs didn't include any movie cash.

I've been holding off on the Saviour of the Universe DVD, but am tempted to get it now during the DD sale.

I just don't want to get it if a BD of it is coming in the near future.

I recently watched my steelbook UK special edition with Brian Blessed commentary track - wow, I forgot how colourful this movie is, the transfer is incredible - this would kick in hidef .... -pray-

Which is why I'm trying to wait. It seems catalog titles have a better chance of making it to BD if they have recently received a new transfer and been released (or re-released) as an SE DVD in the last couple years.
