According to a news-article placed on Mi-Casa's website they are mixing and mastering Rush Hour, Rush Hour 2 and Money Talks for HD with new DTS 7.1 surround sound.

So maybe these are also coming soon from New Line, maybe with Rush Hour 3.

New Line re-released Rush Hour 1 & 2 here a few weeks ago with supposed new transfers. I'm sure they'll debut with part 3 near the holidays.

"Three Brett Ratner films, Rush Hour, Rush Hour II, and Money Talks are being prepared for HD with the new dts 7.1 sound format"

from the website Mi-Casa.

Also Hairspray is being prepaired for 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 mixing.

I only have a BR player; the two biggest ones I want but don't have are:

The Host (blind buy!)
The Lives of Others (saw in theaters and really enjoyed)

I'm also looking forward to seeing Immortal Beloved. I've never seen it and really like Gary Oldman. And I may miss Transformers in theaters and would really want to catch it on Blu-ray.

Léon, Heat or The Godfather Trilogy would easily sell me a player, no questions asked.

Of existing releases, only the LotR Extended Editions would be of interest to me.

However, if The Golden Compass (December 2007 release) is as good as it looks from the teaser I saw, I'd be interested in picking that one up in HD.

[Anyone who enjoys reading fantasy ought to check out Phillip Pullman's "Dark Materials Trilogy": The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass.]

What movies are you itching for on HD DVD and Blu-ray?

Note it's HD DVD, not HD-DVD. HD DVD = both formats

Angels in America
Dead Poets Society
With Honors
Unfaithful
Under The Tuscan Sun (I cannot wait to see this in HD)
