First Adult HD DVD Being Released
Hopfully the mods won't have a problem with this outside the Adult forum, but since it is HD DVD related, just though everyone would like to know the industry has announced the release of its first HD DVD.
You can click below for more info, but obviously DON'T if you're offended by adult material!

I can't believe they want 49.99 for it!
Anyway, They announced an adult title in Japan a few months back but I don;t know if it was ever released. It's titled "Slave Room".

Huh, I had sold off all my adult stuff a couple years ago, but I was considering getting this on DVD the other day - looked interesting - combination of horror/slasher and porn. May buy it out of curiosity, because the price is not attractive at all. What do you guys that own it think of the movie?

If I had to hazard a guess, I would assume it would be in the adult review section and we would post on this board that the review was available. But I agree that it would be of interest to HD DVD owners, even if they aren't remotely interested in the movie itself. The common perception seems to be that HD porn will reveal so many of the star's flaws that they won't seem as attractive (not necessarily something I agree with, but I see a variation on that comment a lot). I can't wait to find out exactly how it looks.

All this really means is that the adult production houses are going to have to start hiring better-looking girls, something I support wholeheartedly.

I've been waiting for an announcement like this just to get a read on which format might win the war. Of course this is only one title... but if more porn companies jump on the bandwagon it could help clear the water. Then I can finally jump in and buy a player. We all know that porn was one of the biggest (the?) forces behind the rise of VHS. Could the same thing happen with HD on disc? If the majority leans one way or the other? Would be nice.

BTW, several other studios are currently working on HD DVD releases, including Digital Playground, which plans to release "Pirates" and "Island Fever 4" on HD DVD shortly (probably 1st quarter 2007).

You know, everyone is saying $50 is real high, but it appears to be a 4 disc set - I assume only the first disc - feature - is in HD, but that is still a lot of content. Plus the regular DVD set is pretty high, upwards of $30 and it is only a 3 disc set. I am not defending the price, but it does not seem unreasonable. It is only $20 more than the single disc Firewall release.
