I'm actually interested in both of those.

XavierMike 07-29-07 09:29 AM

I am as well. They are on my radar.

big e 07-29-07 01:20 PM

Two more Blu-Ray releases that I have absolutely no interest in.

fitprod 07-30-07 08:46 AM

For the most pre-emptive strike release announcement of a TV show, check out this one for The Company on DVD & Blu-ray.

The Company on DVD & Blu-ray in October.

Due October 23rd for $55.95.

New Blu-Ray listed at DVDPacific

Starship Troopers 10/16
Hollow Man (dir. cut) 10/16

Mr. Cinema 07-30-07 09:37 AM

Consider the source first, but I think this one is legit. Spidey Trilogy BD on 10/30. Films will be sold individually or as a set. PCM & TrueHD + HD extras.

10/30 sounds about right. IIRC the French BD box sets were announced for that date a while back too.

Some members who were at Comic-con said Sony reps confirmed a press release in about 2 weeks, which would coincide with the August 8 date from the previous thread.

Some more Blu-Ray. Nice to have a concrete Cars date now.
Looking forward to the Spideys as well.

Surf's Up 10/9
Cars 11/6

Both HD backers have said Q4 will be important. They aren't kidding. There are TONS of stuff coming out.

Bram Stoker's Dracula
Anchor Bay Horror titles
Kubrick titles
Spidey Trilogy
Cars
Close Encounters
Ocean's Trilogy
Pirates 3
Blade Runner set

and assuming Fox wakes up, we'll have Fantastic Four 2, Die Hard 4 (hopefully the whole set), Simpsons, plus all those canceled titles

I've got several more listed as well. My collection is going to quickly increase from Oct-Dec.

You're not kidding. I've actually started selling off a bunch of the dvds you mentioned above to make room for the upcoming Blu-ray/HD-DVD releases.

Yeah, I dont trust Beatboy's rumor's cause he acutally said these were gonna be released in May, BUT I would expect they come out with S3 anyways. So, this isnt farfetched.

Mr. Cinema 07-30-07 12:53 PM

The Sopranos: Season 6, Part 2 arrives on both formats October 23.

Please do tell...No TrueHD probably? PCM only?

Is the release date at least correct? or close?

Skoobooz 07-30-07 05:59 PM

I can't reveal anything more than we said at the booth. Just don't listen too closely to Beatboy all the time....

They're working from an outdated listing. Hopefully they will be updated later today.

Might be the first time a TV's shows release date was announced before the show even premiered.

Delayed indefinitely?

Skoobooz 07-31-07 02:34 PM

It's not delayed, per se...they weren't releasing it now, anyway. But it will be coming eventually.

bunkaroo 07-31-07 02:52 PM

I assume that means not in 2007 then. :(

Never doubt the skoobooz :)

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/news...ay_on_Hold/833

Supposedly it's coming to the UK next week via Disney, so we shall see what happens with that one.

EDIT:

looks like people have already received the disc in the UK and can confirm that it is region free.

matome 08-01-07 08:55 AM

Apparently Canadian 300 blu-ray discs have a Warner insert that list some upcoming titles like Troy (non DC?), V for Vendetta and Nip/Tuck S4. The In Stores Now placement seems pretty weird to be sure as it certainly doesn't designate which ones are.

any news or rumour when or if Sony will release BR editions of 'Labyrinth' or 'Dark Crystal' ?

My guess is they'll hold off on The Dark Crystal until the sequel is released.

Mr. Cinema 08-02-07 02:12 PM

Even though the director's cut of Troy is coming to BD, I still want the theatrical cut to show up. I always want the option of the theatrical cut. Sometimes added footage doesn't help (see 40 Year-Old-Virgin).
