Borders has HD DVD's
Forgive me if this was common knowlege, but I don't go to Borders very often. I happened to be there tonight to pick up a DVD and on my way out noticed they had HD DVD's (and Blu-Rays too if you're into that).
They have a very good selection and apparently get the new releases on time as they had WTC on the shelf, the prices are rediculous of course but with the 30% off coupon that is usually easily found they actually aren't bad at all.
So for people who have trouble finding stuff elsewhere, Borders could be another option if you have one around.

I don't really know what section they were in, i just happened to stumble upon them as i was leaving the DVD section, i never would have expected to find them at Borders to be honest. Next time i'm in there, i will check and let you know exactly where they are located.
Not sure why you would make fun of the prices, they are actually comparable or better than the usual B&M's.
To give an example:
World Trade Center
BB - $29.99
Target - $29.99 (still in shock that Target got a new title in)
Borders - $27.29 (with 30% off coupon, sticker price is $38.99)
And here is a link to a current 30% off coupon:

In fairness, this is yet another sign of "going mainstream" (which is good). And it also may work out to be an (occasional) good deal with Borders Rewards and coupons.
I'll have to see how it shakes out, but I can imagine a good deal every couple of months or so...

I was just in a Borders last night and didn't see any. I'll have to make a more conscious effort to look next time. I've been getting all my HD/BD discs from either Amazon or Fry's since they have been best with pricing, although Fry's is not great about having stuff on release day, or at least enough. They didn't have Field Of Dreams yesterday, but they did have Hulk.

You can always check Bordersstores.com and see if what you are looking for is in stock at your local store.

Good news. The Borders I tend to go to always break street date!
Edit: Yep, just got back from my Borders and used a giftcard I had towards all of next weeks Weinstein HD DVDs except for Derailed. That was the only one not in stock.

Yeah, www.bordersstores.com is a good place to check if your local store(s) has HD-DVDs.
It seems that for the Bay Area, or at least the South Bay Area (San Jose), the stores don't have HD-DVDs. They should be coming in the next weeks. I actually was in Borders last weekend and looked for HD-DVDs but found nothing.

Ok, I went back tonight and the store here has them on the same shelf with the comedy & musicals section. I picked up Superman II for $20.29 even though i'm not a big fan of the old Superman movies, but i am going to start buying more HD DVD's from there to show my support and let Borders know that these things will sell and hopefully they can expand on their already good selection.
