Wow. I didn't get that from digi's response to you at all. From what I read, you raised a valid question and he simply countered it with an easily verifiable reference. If Universal by themselves are going to release more HD-DVD titles than all of the BD-only studios, that's a really huge deal!

I totally agree that there should be some courtesy here. Nobody needs to be rude, and it's just bad form to put other people down. Contradiction or correction don't automatically qualify, though.

They are small, but could make an impact in 2007 also.
Yea I think they could make an impact, but doesn't Disney hold the rights for many of the movies they made earlier?

You probably read his edited post. Hey I'm fine with that, but no need to go apeshit or be rude.

I did neither.

Once upon a time we had a "vs" thread that was filled with posts VERY similar to yours. It tanked and people were suspended and banned (myself included). You don't think HD DVD is going to survive? great. Maybe the HD DVD support thread wasn't the best place to post that. And as far as I know, none of us can see into the future and the mods don't want posts like that from EITHER side so let's try and keep it civil, huh?

You don't like me and I'm ok with that. You've always been sarcastic and nasty to me.

I'm not trying to get in the middle here, isn't it the "General HD DVD news and discussion" thread? I support and enjoy both formats, but isn't all of this part of the "discussion" as long as it's kept civil?

Yeah, right.

If i posted something along those lines in the BD thread, I'd be flogged.

Personally, I don't think there should be any talk of "who is going to win" because the reality is that none of us knows. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes and we have absolutely NO idea what turns this will take. So to make statements about what *will* happen or what we think *will* happen only seem to incite others at this point. IMHO, that is the kinda talk that should be banned.

This whole argument is pointless, since HD DVD is going to win.

Yeah, i was speaking about new releases mainly. As far as an older release, supposedly they own the rights to Kill Bill The Whole Bloody Affair, which would be a sweet release.

Also, Sin City 2 will be Weinstein.

I highly agree that it's all pointless speculation, but isn't that what we do around here ? Maybe a HD-DVD or BD "support" thread would be a good idea, it would be hard to justify any quasi-bashing in a thread decidated to good news. HAPPY THOUGHTS DAMMIT!! I'm going to go out and buy a new HD-DVD with my random BB reward zone certificates that came yesterday, $40 bucks richer today.

Make sure you use a target print-out to price-match. No reason to waste those bucks.

From what I'm told, they're *all* support threads. That's why some people have stopped posting here almost altogether (see: awmurray, for one). This is the all new and improved, tripping on acid, sunshine & happiness HD talk.

Your posts have been some of the most heated as of late.

If someone's doing something you feel is inappropriate, report the post to a mod and resist the temptation to respond. As it is, I want to pretty much purge the past couple pages of posts.

I really don't have time to babysit right now.

As you wish...

But I don't see myself matching this by a LONG shot:

Jeez can't we have some fucking courtesy here instead of this condescending bullshit.

I rarely buy anything HD/BD related from anywhere but Amazon, I assume you mean that BB would PM Target's online prices? I was unaware that would work, they've never given you any problems with that?

Never.

I price match ALL of my HD DVD purchases with them. print it out. just give it to them. i've even gone to different best buy's.

I just whip it out and say "aaaaaaaaaand I need to price match it with target."

done.

Thank God for clarification. I'm happily married and all, but there is a BB CSR that might be too tempting if you hadn't stopped me. I know RoboDad is from Boise, Jamie the CSR that's always in retruns is real cute...

Anyways, I'm thinking 12 Monkeys and Troy for about $2.50 after tax if I can get her to match it. Thanks Digi.

Just don't give them a choice. Slap it down and that's that.

The only time I had a problem was when my printout was from the week beforehand. As long as it's from the same week, they've never cared.

In fact, I've gone back and spoken with CS and they price-matched it for me.

so,

You just bring in an item description from Tarhet.com? I've had bad luck price matching before, so I just want to make sure.

Who said this? A representative from Universal or a Rep from HD DVD? Lets take a look at that statment: If Universal releases 100 titles than Columbia, BV, Fox, and MGM will only put out 25 or less titles each? I find that hard to believe. It sounds more like the guy is blowing PR smoke the way some of the BD speakers did at CES with their estimates on hardware penetration, etc. Plus I find it eally hard to believe that anyone at Universal or HD DVD has a clue to the complete Columbia, Fox, MGM, and BV release plans for 2007.

Battlestar Galactica is probably the title that would get me to take the plunge.

Who was the poster that had the inside connections at the studios? I remember people asking him for info around October timeline.
