I am in no way suggesting that the original topic was posted with any sort of malice in mind, but it seemed very likely to me that the thread would inevitably wind up being another anti-Blu-ray thread.
I didn't remove the links to the articles. I'm not stopping anyone from commenting on them in the appropriate places. I'm just tired of the format war hassle, and I'm tired of banning/suspending people.
Something has to give, and I personally think the forum's become a much more pleasant place since the emphasis has changed to enthusiast discussion from "my format's better than yours!"

I see a clamping down of bullshit, which I very much enjoy.

Hmmm, there are two ways to interpret that last sentence and I can't figure out which way you meant it to be read...

This comes from The Digital Bits:
Meanwhile, Universal Home Entertainment has gotten back to us this afternoon with a bit of news regarding their high-def plans. Vivian Meyer, the studio's Senior VP of Publicity, has informed us that the studio will continue exclusively backing the HD-DVD format in 2007 and expects to make a number of major HD-DVD release announcements at CES next month.

I'm hoping for Jurassic Park.

I'd bite on Jurassic Park. Hell, I might even go for Jurassic Park 3. But Universal seriously needs to start putting out some of their classic monster movies ASAP.

Id like to see AT LEAST Scarface, Bourne Identity, and Meet the Fockers.
I HOPE to see Jurassic Park series, Back to the Future series and possibly some other Spielberg movies. Fingers crossed.
Those would be HUGE for HD-DVD.

What does the aspect ratio have to do with HD DVD?
I'm hoping for Jaws, some Hitchcock, and Universal Monsters.

Does anyone know why Denon/Marantz (D&M Holdings) or Onkyo would be members of the HD DVD promotion group? It would be kind of interesting if any of these had plans to market a player...
The group's purpose is:

The 360 HD DVD is an incredible bargain, despite its shortcomings.
