Staples will be selling refurbished RCA HDV5000 players (Tosh A1 equivalent) for $49.99 on Cyber Monday - 11/26/07. Yes, it's a gen1 player, and yes, it's a refurb, and no, you won't get 5 free movies. Still, a pretty darn cheap way to get into HDM...

Speedy1961 just posted the Best Buy news for December 16-22, and, if I'm reading it right, there's going to be a BOGO Free sale on select HD DVDs and BDs. Now the fact that there's another BOGO sale for BD on the horizon may not be big news, but FINALLY we're getting one for HD DVD! Woo hoo!!
