HD DVD Owners: How many BD-only titles would you buy?

I posted this on AVS and figured I'd do it here too.

To those who are firmly in the HD DVD camp (with no plans of purchasing BD), how many BD-only (at the moment) titles would you have bought if they were released on HD DVD in VC1 with quality consistant with the other HD DVD releases, all extras, etc?

*Crash
*T2
*Stealth
*Total Recall
*Swat
*Black Hawk Down
*Speed
*Flight Plan
*From Hell
*Sentinel
*American Psycho
*Courage Under Fire

Not too many. And almost half of those will be gone if LG/Disney switch over.

Of the titles that are out now? Maybe 2-3.

Problem is, there are several films in the pipeline that I won't see on HD-DVD given the current studio stances. Hopefully the Lion's Gate rumors are true, because Disney won't be too far behind after that...

Of the titles now? zero
Of the potential titles? A ton.
If the war drags on and no other studios cross over to HD DVD I will have to buy a BD player at some point. I support HD DVD, but I'm not going to wait forever if the BD sides racks up a lot of exclusives I really want.

Sony however, I can live without. There is not a single Sony Studios title I would buy into Blu-ray for. Fox though...

Assuming good quality, I'd pick these up:

Click (Sorry, I like Adam Sandler... )
Dinosaur
Fantastic Four
Ice Age: The Meltdown
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
The Devil's Rejects
Total Recall
Lord of War
T2
Terminator
Saw
Speed
Underworld: Evolution

There are a couple of others that I'd probably pick up if they were on sale.

Assuming that criteria, I'd buy 12 titles:

Terminator
Terminator 2
Total Recall
The Last Waltz
Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back
Brothers Grimm
Dark Water
Black Hawk Down
Fantastic Four
Kingdom of Heaven
Speed
Usual Suspects

This list is all of the BD-exclusives that I own on standard DVD. Some of them -- actually a lot of them -- are not exactly 'must have' titles. Last Waltz, J&SB, Grimm, Dark Water... these aren't exactly things I was dying to upgrade.

And, in their current state without the SD extras, there are some that I would never upgrade -- J&SB fits pretty squarely in that category.

The Fifth Element
Gattaca
Memento
The Last Waltz
T2
Total Recall
American Psycho
Kingdom of Heaven
Speed
The Usual Suspects

With the MPEG-2 titles, I might consider buying some of them (except TFE) if they were very cheap-less than $10, since they would be temporary purchases while I wait on new encodings. So, there is still not one BD-exclusive out that I would buy at the typical street price yet. I will give the upcoming Lionsgate and Fox titles the benefit of the doubt and assume that they will be of high quality, but we'll see.

I can't say that I would have definitely bought all of these, but I would have at least considered buying:

Brothers Grimm
Click
Devil Wears Prada
Dinosaur
Fantastic Four
From Hell
Gone in 60 Seconds
Ice Age: The Meltdown
Monster House
Rocky
RV
Stargate
Talladega Nights
Terminator
Terminator 2
Underworld: Evolution
The Wild

And of course, I would buy a corrected version of The Fifth Element (on HD DVD) in a heartbeat.

Possible BD titles I'd buy

This is all assuming they receive reviews comparable to good quality HD DVDs (not like The Fifth Element on BD or Full Metal Jacket).

Definitely:

Devil's Rejects
The Fifth Element
Glory Road
House of Flying Daggers
Kung Fu Hustle
Silent Hill

Subtotal: $120

Probably:

Black Hawk Down
Benchwarmers
Into the Blue
Kingdom of Heaven
Lord of War
Monster House
Terminator
Terminator 2

Subtotal ($160 × 50%): $80

Possibly:

The Big Hit
Crash
RV
Stealth

Subtotal ($80 × 25%): $20

So, about $220 worth.

If they came out on HD DVD? Lots.

Until then? Zero...

This would require me to go look up what's only available on BD. Looking at the lists here, I would say:

Crash
T2
Total Recall
American Psycho
The Devil's Rejects
Terminator
Gattaca
Memento
The Last Waltz
Kingdom Of Heaven
The Usual Suspects
Brothers Grimm
Stargate
The Fifth Element
Silent Hill

Hard saying, cause I've bought some HD-DVD titles I never thought I'd get, just cause they are HD (no regrets, I just love the format)... but the BDs I would definitely get if they had HD-DVD quality are:

T2
Total Recall
The Devil's Rejects
Terminator
Memento
The Last Waltz
Kingdom Of Heaven
The Usual Suspects
Black Hawk Down
Speed
The Fifth Element

T2
Kingdom of Heaven: DC
Black Hawk Down

That's it for the current releases.

Not to many, but a few. The upcoming release though are littered with titles I would buy. Their loss - I will just enjoy what I can buy.

If LG switches it will cure a big chunk of what is on the list. Sony really don't have but maybe one or two titles out I would buy. Disney has a couple and Fox hasn't got any out yet so LG has most of the early BD titles I wanted.

Would definitely buy
The Descent
The Devil's Rejects
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Kingdom of Heaven
Memento
Terminator
Terminator 2
The Usual Suspects

Would consider
Crash
Monster House
Rocky
The Omen
Saw

Maybe...
Fantastic Four
From Hell
House of Flying Daggers
The Punisher
Stargate
Total Recall
Underworld: Evolution

I would have purchased Stargate; that's it!

The T2 title is tempting, but the upscaled SD-DVD T2 Extreme Edition looks pretty good on my equipment. If it were released to HD-DVD with some exclusive HD extras, I would probably purchase it.

Same here...There is nothing out now that I want, but potentially obviously quite a bit. However, that list shrinks considerably if LG and Disney go HD.
