Help with a research project
I need some help with a research project I am doing for school. Just a couple of questions for you HD-DVD/Blu-Ray owners.
1. Gender
2. Age
3. Do you have an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray player
4. Store where you bought your player
5. In one or two sentences how would you describe your satisfaction with the player.

3. Toshiba HD-A1 HD DVD player
4. Ordered it through Amazon.com
5. Highly satisfied. The only flaw is the slow bootup/load times, but those are more than worth wading through for the incredible picture and sound. And the fact I can play my own homemade footage on regular DVD in 1080 is icing on the cake. I will own and use this player for as long as I can.

5. Very satisfied. I have found it to be a superb DVD player while also offering me a good selection of high quality HD content as well. The slow startup is my only problem with it, but it is only a minor inconvenience.

4. Crutchfield.com during first week of launch
5. Extremely happy with the unit. I bought it for it's HD features but it has replaced my standard dvd player as well. Great support from Toshiba so far. The build quality is incredible. The boot times are probably the biggest downfall but it's a small price to pay for this kind of quality.

5. This has been the single best home theater purchase that I have ever made. The
quality of the player is unbelievable in everything from picture, sound and
upconversion of SD DVDs.

4. Crutchfield (online)
5. Very satisfied. I'm still suffering from some extremely minor problems with the player, and I wouldn't complain if the boot-up time were faster, but like many of the others ahead of me, I'd rank it as the second best home theater-related purchase I've made in the many years I've devoted to this hobby.

4. Best Buy (because they broke street date)
5. Very satisfied. It has minor flaws like the slow boot time, but considering how affordable it is for a brand new technology I am very happy with the purchase. The video and audio quality has pretty much lived up to all my expectations. I consider it a great value considering the low price of the HD movies thanks to places like Amazon.com.

5. Pretty much what everyone else has said about the slow bootup and load times. I was very skeptical of how much better HD would look than SD DVD but must say that there's absolutley no comparison. Best purchase (and value) I've made in past few years.

5. VERY satisfied. 3 of the 4 titles I bought in the last 2 weeks have been stunning to watch and hear. I just bought 2 more titles today.
Did anyone besides Josh Z buy the Samsung...?

1) Male
2) 53
3) Toshiba A1 (HD DVD)
4) Buy.com
5) Best value for the money of any first generation CE product I can think of — the A1 made home theater fun again! Boot times don't bother me so the only negative I can think of would be the impossible-to-read-in-the-dark lettering on the remote and its lack of sensitivity to some of the cursor inputs.
Guess I am not surprised to find that the early adopters here are all male and mostly quite young.

3. HD DVD

5. Extremely satisfied. I plan on supporting Blu-Ray for data once the price is right (unless triple-layer HD DVD gets there first); and for home video IF Buena Vista hasn't switched sides and I have a PS3 or sub $250 BRD player.
