Hey, I'm in for Pitch Black.

I found the titles at the Universal site too. Updated.
Universal could give some variety/quality. A lot of their titles from Focus Features are really great Come on, where is Far from Heaven, Lost in Translation, The Constant Gardener, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, even Pride and Prejudice dammit. Or why not Brokeback Mountain in HD? Blu-ray has Crash, after all... |
Terminator - 6/27
Robocop - 6/27 |

The news about the players selling out the first batch can only make the studios eager to get more product out there quickly. |

$35 for a single-layer Happy Gilmore disc with no extras? Someone at Universal is smoking the crack pipe again.
|
I will definitely be waiting for many of the Universal titles to end up in the discount bin (it will be awhile) but at least Warner's titles are easy to find for $20 and priced pretty much the same as their other 2 disc sets lately.

I just picked up Million Dollar Baby at my local Best Buy. It wasn't on the floor, but the guy went to the stockroom and came out with it. Check you local Best Buy.
|
Yep, I got it at my Best Buy. Same thing, they had to dig around in the back for it. Their computer showed 3 copies of Serenity in stock, but they couldn't find it anywhere.
|
List reworked.

I pre-ordered Apollo 13 at Amazon.com for $24.49 (free 2-day shipping w/ prime). My status has changed to "preparing items for shipping". I hope I get this on Wednesday. I don't think I can bring myself to buy Doom. But I will definitely be getting Jarhead and Cinderella Man.
It appears that Amazon and Walmart have the same pricing on these releases, whereas Best Buy is a bit more expensive. I got Serenity at a local Walmart for $24.94...Best Buy is $5 more. I haven't checked Circuit City to see if they even carry these. Since Warner Bros. owns New Line and has some releases out, I'm surprised we haven't seen an announcement from NL regarding their first titles. I have a feeling Paramount's pricing will reflect Universal's. |
haha. from what I've read about DOOM, the video and audio are THE reference for HD-DVD thus far.
I'll Netflix it, but I'm dreading the viewing. |
Anyone know how much WB charges for shipping?
I notice they sell all of their HD-DVD's for $19.99 on their website, which is much cheaper than BB. |
Probably like $7. That's how they get ya. :)

Chronos delayed according to davisdvd: HD DVD to somewhere in May, Blu-ray to "late summer". Pulled from list.

FROM THE DIGITAL BITS: First of all, Sony has just announced the DVD, Blu-ray Disc and UMD release of Ultraviolet on 6/27 (SRP $28.95 for the DVD and UMD, and $38.95 for the Blu-ray version). There will be FOUR different versions available: PG-13 DVD and Blu-ray Disc versions, and unrated extended versions on DVD and UMD. Strangely, the Blu-ray Disc version (which you'd think would be the more deluxe) will ONLY include the PG-13 version. Clearly, Sony hasn't figured out seamless branching on Blu-ray yet. According to Sony, the PG-13 versions will include a cast and crew audio commentary track and the UV Protection: The Making of Ultraviolet documentary. The Unrated version will add to this "additional never-before-seen bonus footage." We've updated the UMD and High-Def Release Lists accordingly. |

They still should offer both, though. Hell, with all that extra room, can't little ol' BR fit both versions on one disc? ;) |
