Agreed.

This just feels like a PhD trying to explain Chaos Theory to a 7th grader who thinks he knows everything because he just saw Jurassic Park.

I'm all for being rational in this "format war" but there's not a damn thing that BD/Sony has done that would make me trust them. Nothing thus far about the BD launch has been successful other than the fact that they got discs and players out. I'd have zero problem admitting they've done something right...when and if that happens. For the moment, they deserve no praise or defense and I don't understand those that continue to do both. In fact, they've basically told the consumer, "this is good enough." And here's a perfect example of a consumer that doesn't care what happens.

Or he's just here to piss us all off and look naive. Not sure which as of yet.

And also, I seriously think a lot of this should be broken off into the "and everything else..." thread.

I don't deeply follow Sony's comments in the home/consumer electronics division but their gaming division has been running their mouth incessantly with a bunch of lies and/or false promises for the past one or two years.

I don't want Sony to "fail" but I wouldn't mind a one-two punch of them losing dominance with Blu-Ray and PS3. It's honestly like they don't learn from their mistakes.

Okay, this thread has really gone on long enough. Like many of you, I think that this can easily continue here.

If any of you are interested in the RICOH player, then please start a new thread and let's keep that thread about the RICOH only.
