you're going to deter people from even checking it out for themselves. do you know how many will rely on the internet for their "information?"

The enthusiasm of the EAs over at the File should be the deciding factor for new buyers, not the screenshots.

Like I said before, if you read through the thread, you’ll clearly see that no one is stating that these pics show the absolute detail of HD-DVD.
People like the screenshots and we’ve had several people (one today actually) say they can’t wait to buy a HD player based (partially) on the shots.

And I'd say, judging from the reactions I've read, they're doing more harm than good.

Maybe for someone who's been staring at HD for months the pics are an injustice, but for the average schmo like myself who hasn't seen a heck of a lot - the pics look pretty awesome to me.
Thanks for the pics!

I figure we can keep this thread to show differences for all movies released in HD form so that people can make decisions on whether the HD version is that much better than the SD version.
I keep leaning towards getting HD but I am still not completely sold especially after going to best buy, but after I saw some of the pictures it made me more of a believer.
I wish there was a better way to show screenshot comparisons though.

I mean, I suppose one could but that still wouldn't show the difference between HD DVD and SD DVD.

Don't have HD-DVD yet but mad to get into it...
Been watching this thread for comparison images and decided to do a test with my regular dvd copy of T2 (the Ultimate Edition) and a download of the WMV HD trailer for the T2 Extreme Edition.
Here's a screenshot from the T2 dvd, played through Power DVD and run at full screen:

Now here's the same frame (or as close as I could get) from the WMV HD trailer:

I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions...
p.s.
I have a Dell 24" LCD so these are native 1920x1080 grabs

That's a MUCH better comparison than the previous one; it shows a clear difference, while the other didn't show much of anything.
