I had high hopes, but....Basically, they just think you should spend more money. Worthless.

Well, I consider it a small risk considering I got an HD-DVD player for around $430.
I own 3 discs. I'm holding off buying too many because I'm waiting to see how BR shakes out. For now, I'm renting from Netflix. I've got 3 HD-DVD discs at home with 17 more in the queue.
I've been waiting for years for good HD content and it looks much better than I thought it would on my setup. So good that I really don't like to watch SD-DVD anymore.
I'm just lucky HD-DVD players are so cheap because I certainly wouldn't be paying $1000+ for one.
PS: I've got an SVS subwoofer question for you that I'm going to post in the HT Gear section...

#1 is an invalid comparison. It should be the difference between 480P and 1080P. That difference is far less than 480I to 1080P
#5 is just plain stupid. Why should you buy HDDVD? So they will release more HDDVDs for you to buy! It's so simple!
#7/#8 are no more true for HDDVD than for regular DVD
And there are more, but these to me were the most glaring. Stupid, stupid article.

#1 IS an invalid comparison, because it should most likely be the difference between 480p and 1080i. Since this article is clearly aimed at people who own HDTVs, it's safe to say they watch their movies in 480p. And since, again, it's aimed at people who currently own HDTVs, the chances of them having something that will accept 1080p without dropping it down to 1080i and upconverting it is slim. So it should be 480p vs. 1080i.

#2 is pretty stupid too. What makes them think the music industry is going to get behind these new formats when people don't care about higher quality than compressed files, let alone CDs? If they (and more importantly, the consumers) couldn't get behind DVD-Audio and SACD, why would they support these new formats?

50MB, cool. We can watch 3 seconds of LOTR.
