Bestbuy/Walmart.com Pricematch

Guys,

Thanks for the heads-up on the Tokyo Drift Walmart.com pricing error. My Bestbuy (Manalapan, NJ) matched the price with no questions asked. I was out the door at $21.39 after tax! Nice!

HD-DVD Sampler...

candyrocket786,

Did you get a order confirmation for the free HD-DVD sampler? I went throught the entire checkout process, but nothing interesting happened after I submitted. I just want to know if I need to do it again.

Seems like MJEntertainment, after adding titles, has dumped some:

http://www.mjentertainment.net/shop/...d=hd-dvd&sc1=d

Including the Sleepy Hollow that bkeddinger ordered. Dang..

I think MJEntertainment sells what they have and then remove the title until they have more stock.

Okay, I don't know if you consider this a "bargain" but it's definitely a deal:

Call your local Target. Ask if they have DCPI number 058270029 in the back room. Make sure to ask specifically to search for the number in the backroom, because their automated searches apparently scan the floor and the back differently. If they have it, ask if you come in, will they pull it out of the back for you. If they say yes, dash over there as fast as you can and ask for it, and you can get Batman Begins today for $19.99. I just bought mine, off to watch it now.

Have fun, fellas!

Picked up Constatine from Frys yesterday. The checout ladymade sure I knew it wasn't a 'normal DVD' and was 'special'. I told her yes, I own a $500 HD-DVD player and know the difference. And Second, why would someone pay $15 for a 'dvd' when the other version is less then $10 everywhere?

Supr, I plan on trying to grab Batman today too....

I still can't believe all of these target stores are breaking street date because someone walks in with their inventory numbers.

Now that target is carrying HD-dvd I can see the weekly AVS threads with the stock numbers listed for titles that come out 2 weeks later.

Anyway, Let us know what you think when you are done watching it!

Got mine.

Noticed it had some weird burns/smudge marks around the outer ring of the HD-DVD (label side).

Thanks for the heads-up! Just got back from one of my Target's... the clerk was a total dweeb. He said they didn't have it, while I'm looking at his screen that says 1 copy in the store. I said "Well, what about that?" He goes,"Oh, OK... but I don't know where to find it." DOH! So I left to try another Target down the road, but as I'm leaving, I'm checking out the DVDs on the shelves, and lo and behold! One copy each of Batman Begins AND Polar Express!!! I snatched them, ran to the check-out upfront, the clerk scanned the label UPC (no Target stickers, no problem!), and they are now mine!

Thanks again!!!

Wow you guys are lucky. I'll try my Target tomorrow since I have a class right near it. But I'm not expecting much because the employees there are useless. So anyway for those that have it, is the this new refrence disc?

They also put Dune and The Mummy up, but you can't preorder yet.

In other news Guitarscape Planet seems to be completely gone. I had it in my wish list but now it just says "see buying options". When I click on the link or do a search the title is gone.

Wow, I ordered Blazing Saddles and Sky Captain yesterday, and now they're gone. They may not get many copies.

Im wondering if Kong is gonna end up a 2 disc set or something....I dont understand why its so expensive unless they are still going with the combo pricing.

It's priced as a new release combo disc. I wonder if it will be the extended version that comes out the same day on SD DVD.

Universal's site lists it as the theatrical. I think it's priced higher because Kong is their best selling dvd ever. This is their premium HD DVD title and they may feel they need to price it that way.

If your right, thats ridiculous. There is no reason for this title to be priced that high unless its a multi-disc set.

Im hoping more details on this one will come to light soon.
