Weird. I'm using Chrome on my Windows 7 desktop, and I can drop the URL without an issue.

I tried Firefox, Vivaldi, and now Chrome. None are working for me. As stated above, the pasted url just disappears.

Oh! OK, this finally got implemented. So that's the unified file uploader. You should be able to upload just about any media file from your computer through that.

We're trying to host more images on the DVD Talk server, because when stuff is hosted on another site, it runs the risk of not working in the future (See: PhotoBucket). But there's still a spot for the URL at the top of that uploader. I just copy/pasted this from Amazon:

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread

I wonder... Do you guys have Javascript disabled?

When I drop in the URL, it immediately loads the image and gives me a preview of it, as well as the option to change the order of the images (i.e. if you've added multiples images).

I'm guessing this is done via Javascript.

Can you post a screenshot of what the uploader looks for you?

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread

Are we allowing new members to post threads earlier than before or is it just coincidence that we're getting hammered with more spam accounts than usual?

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread

I like the update, more or less. However, I've noticed lately if I post in a thread, then tap "New Posts," that thread isn't there. I suppose I'm the last to post in it so there's nothing new to read, though if I'm responding to Person B and want to go back to see what Person A wrote before them, I have to do a little extra work to get there. If I hit the "Back" button, I also have to hit "Refresh" to see my post. Sometimes, I've wondered if my post even went through and have to remind myself of the new glitch, er, feature. It comes off as such an arbitrary "feature" for the update, not sure the point. Anyone?

We talked about this in the thread a bit back. It's different than it was before. If you want to be able to see threads you posted in, rather than using New Posts use Today's Posts under Quick Links. That works basically how New Posts used to work. You'll see threads you've entered or replied to; they just won't be bolded like the others.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread

Thanks, but where is "Today's Posts" and "Quick Links"? I don't see them anywhere. This may solve the other odd issue I have now, which is 20+ pages of unread threads that I don't need to know about.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread

Quick Links is a drop down menu from the top bar. It's over to the right near your User info. I set Today's Posts as a bookmark in my browser and use it like I used to use New Posts.

Top right, underneath your PM link, between "Search" and "Log Out".

The other link I like in that menu, and sounds like it might help with your problem is "Mark Forums Read". I use it every time I finish going through the new posts.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread

It's too bad we're not able to customize the top bar that has Forums Gallery Tools, etc. I only ever use Forums and New Posts from that. It would be nice to add Mark Forums Read.

Re: Jan. 3rd 2019 Upgrade Master Thread

This is why I want the "Panic Button" back, so I can assign whatever link I want to it and it's quickly accessible on every post. The "Today's Posts" would be a good link to put there for some. I have a link that shows everything new and excludes the political forum. I'd like to put that in there.

It still works for me. I guess some here are having browser issues.

I tried three different browsers. Are you seeing the new window like I posted above, or is it still the old (good!) way? I'm only able to post images now by using the [img] brackets (which is a pain!)

Yes I get that same upload pop up and insert the image with no issues.

When you say insert image, do you mean where it says "paste a file URL"? Or the drag'n'drop? Drag'n'drop worked for me (which is how I posted that image), but the paste doesn't work. The URL just disappears.

The URL is there. It doesn't disappear. I copy and paste it with no issues. I know you're annoyed by this, but it worked fine for me.
