Last page of thread not loading
 

For the "The Random Political Cartoon Thread" the last page isn't loading. I can only get to the next to last page. I get notices when people make new posts but they never show up in the thread. Clicking on 121 just brings me back to page 120. Clicking last page does the same.

Probably just the usual deleted posts thing that happen near daily on various threads.

If I logout I can see the missing pages. The actual number of pages is 193. When logged in I can see 121 pages listed but get directed to page 120 when trying to go past 120.

So for anyone else having this problem just logout to see the page you are trying to reach. Once logging back in the problem returns though.

There are no missing pages or posts. Everyone sees the same number of posts. It's just when posts get deleted the newly created and then later not necessary pages get glitched.

Seeing this with the main UHD thread. In this case, there's two pages that won't currently load.

Post #700 appears to be the last one, and pages 29 and 30 are inaccessible right now.

Lots of hidden posts in the thread or something?

Looks fixed. And it's possible about the hidden posts. If things get deleted, it can mess up the post indexing temporarily.

^ I see one post on page 29, and the thread shows 30 total pages but the last page is inaccessible. It's a minor nuisance more than anything else. Thanks though.

There’s one thread, I forget which, with two phantom pages for the last few weeks.

Hey guys, this could be an issue with your cache. In order to avoid clearing your cache try bypassing your cache instead.

In most Windows and Linux browsers:
Hold down Ctrl and press F5.

In Apple Safari:
Hold down ⇧ Shift and click the Reload toolbar button.

In Chrome and Firefox for Mac:
Hold down both ⌘ Cmd+⇧ Shift and press R.

I wonder how many people use computers to browse the site, versus tablets, versus phones. I haven’t used a computer in years.

True, but losing all my auto log-ins and what not on dozens of sites, for the chance to fix an issue that is an extremely minor annoyance doesn’t seem worthwhile. I’m more interested in the technical whys as to how it happens here so often.

Noticed that when I posted in the thread a few minutes ago. Clearing cache/different browser doesn't help.

Same here. Clearing the cache/different browser (one that's never seen this site before) makes no difference in that thread.

Is it just that particular thread that has the missing last page? It could be a post indexing error. Are there error threads that have had this error that resolved themselves?

The ones I see with count errors are always with errors.

For example, this thread is always wrong. Used to be 1, then 2, now 5 pages (ie on pg 43 shows 48 yet 43 is last).
