If this was in the movie thread, I locked everything on the first page because we were getting spammed like a mother fucker.

So are the spammers getting bolder now?

Seems like in the past year, maybe more, we've been targeted pretty quickly. Sometimes hard even. Ironically... Supermallet was a mod before all that and we didn't get spammed too often. Hrmmmmm.

While mods and admins all play a part in the anti-spam effort (ably assisted by member-reports during our "down time") the major part of the work is undertaken by the admins and can be quite onerous. Whenever there is a change in the team some of the experience has to be re-built. And the software tools can change, too, which can have a knock-on effect.

A lot of posts get locked when trying to bring fun to a dead forum. Sad but true.
