I selected 1 year because it's a rough average between my preference for most people (forever) and my preference for Tracer Bullet (60 seconds).

Borg is a species.

Re: Mod and Admin term limits?

If the community desires this and there are enough candidates, this is fine. The more qualified candidates there are on a regular basis, the easier it is for any mod who wants to step down. But enacting artificial limits on the amount of time someone can mod is unlikely to resolve the issues at hand. We have a plan to do just that though. Sit tight, it won't be long.

I think one year or so would be about right. Too short and you will never get the hang of it.

Re: Mod and Admin term limits?

The mob has spoken! The poll itself is very close, but it seems to me that the majority are fine with an indefinite term as long as there's a process to remove the mod or admin. With that in mind, here's the process to remove me:
  • Create a yes/no poll in this forum asking if people want to see me removed
  • Poll should expire after the next two business days (since many people post only from work, we want to make sure it gets the maximum number of eyeballs)
  • Poll should be non-public, so I can't seek revenge against my enemies

Note I'm doing this voluntarily, so this process applies to Groucho only, and will be superseded should IB instate their own mod recall policy.

You missed the fine print when you signed your contract. With our stop-loss clause we can bring you back even after you're discharged.

SSGT Groucho, welcome aboard!

If a poll were started right now, would Groucho survive?
