Re: Mobile version
Is there a specific mobile URL that might work or are you not allowed to reveal it just yet?
|
Re: Mobile version
I don't see it on iPhone (with Chrome or Safari). Perhaps is only showing for Android currently.
|
Re: Mobile version
Is there a particular address? I don't see anything on my Android or iPhone just going to forum.dvdtalk.com
|
Re: Mobile version
I just went the usual way to www.dvdtalk.com on my iPhone. There's this banner at the bottom that looks like this.

Re: Mobile version
Weird, don't see that show up at the bottom in either of my phones. You must be special :D
|
Re: Mobile version
Maybe I'm an Admin?? Locking all threads NOW!
|
Re: Mobile version
My phone just started using the mobile version. Schweet.
|
Re: Mobile version
Woohoo, I see it now too. And it has a "show new posts" link
|
Re: Mobile version
Yep, seeing it on iPhone/Safari now. Still need to play around with it, but thanks for finally pushing this through!
|
Re: Mobile version
It was turned on for everyone this morning :)
|
Re: Mobile version
I'm not seeing it on WP8.1 (running IE), but such is the plight of the 4%. :/
|
Re: Mobile version
Now if it could only take me to the last post immediately instead of just starting me off at the first post when I click on the thread.
DVDtalk problems. |

Re: Mobile version
I have to say, the web version is ugly, is riddled with ads even if you're logged in, and I immediately went back to the full site. If I were a new visitor, and all I saw was the web version, I'd leave and never check the site out again.
|
Re: Mobile version
Yeah, I'm just not feeling the mobile layout. I'm sticking with the desktop version. There's nothing wrong with reading that on my phone.
|
Re: Mobile version
I agree there are a lot of ads, but navigation and reading are a lot easier than full view on a phone. Posting replies is easier too. If in full view zooming to reply is alway weird - keyboard overlays the type window.
Sure some things could be improved but I like the update. Several years past due! |
Re: Mobile version
but still behind the norm for mobile sites of 2015...
|
Re: Mobile version
Not bad for a first draft I guess, but I'm definitely not going to be using it as it is. Reasons already mentioned.

Re: Mobile version
I think the mobile site is good. Not really understanding the complaints some have. It's pretty clean and much easier to post. I'm using Safari on my iPhone and there are no ads whatsoever. Some things could be fine tuned but I think it's mostly a good effort.

Re: Mobile version
There needs to be a PREVIEW button alongside the reply button on the mobile version.
|
Re: Mobile version
I am frightened by the layout change. It's been years since the last one.
I demand that the mobile version look exactly like the normal version. |
Re: Mobile version
I just click *request desktop site* when I come here now.
|
Re: Mobile version
I agree that it should go to the last post not the first post when entering a thread. In addition, some areas don't work at all, like the streaming thread keeps resolving to the home page. Seems there are some kinks to work out. Glad we are upgrading and moving ahead. Here's to hoping these are just growing pains and the mobile version will increase traffic & use....

Re: Mobile version
Mobile version is pretty good. No major issues for me.
