Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
I'm still having lots of problems. CSS sporadically won't load, only a certain percentage of images in reviews will come up, it'll take up to five or six attempts to get a thread or forum listing to load....

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Any time I click on a link or make a post, it takes several seconds to complete. This forum was always very fast for me (XP SP3, IE8), click on a link and I'm there, submit a post and it's done. Now when I submit a post it's 7 to 10 seconds before the post makes it, a good 5 seconds (or longer) after clicking a link to change destinations. This has been going on for at least a week (probably longer). There is no quickness about the forum anymore. I wish vBulletin would resolve whatever issues they're having. -kd5-

Again, we're very sorry for this. We've been working on tracking down a resolution to the site issues we know you've been having. I promise I will update you as soon as I can.
Is it at least possible to go to Firefox and perform some basic functions?

It's slower today in IE8 and FF than it was 2 days ago.
3.4ghz P4 Northwood
2gb PC3200
80gb 8mb WD SE
NVidia GeForce 6600LE
2.6mb/s DSL connection
Windows XP SP3, tweaked & squeaky clean.
Takes 5-6 seconds between the time I click a link and the moment it arrives, 10 seconds min. for a post to make it. -kd5-

Again very slow for me today. But I notice it only happens for me when that HTH Pool banner/commercial is above the threads. Coincidence?

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
This has been an ongoing issue for me too. I seem to have to stop and reload on a page a lot of times to get a topic/area of the forum to open. I was thinking it was on my end but it seems like others are having problems too.

For what it's worth, because of some new graphics in Firefox, I can see that the forum pages themselves (http://forum.dvdtalk.com/hot-deals-2/ , http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-home-theater-gear-5/ , etc.) connect and load relatively quickly, but individual thread pages load slowly when things are rough, which they are quite often.

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
Even Firefox isn't great today, I've had several pages fail to load. Chrome remains completely unusable. Kind of frustrating that this has continued for weeks to months. Isn't this hurting site traffic and ad revenue?

Re: Forums Slow Loading Lately?
It seems to me like it gets worse with each passing day. It's taking longer today to load each page, and longer to submit a post in a thread than it has in days past. Just cleaned up junk files, defragged, and scanned for crap, computer's squeaky clean. -kd5-

It's taking 8 to 10 seconds for a page to load, longer for a post to make it, and so far I've gotten 3 Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage messages trying to get here, make a post, and move from one page to another, as if the site's connectivity is sporadic. -kd5-
