I'm looking for an old post of mine, so I searched for "Mabuse" but the results only go back to 2009. Where are the old posts?

I searched under your name, specifying posts from a year ago and older from the options on the left hand side of the search function page. The search results provided 18 pages totalling 450 posts and had threads going back to 2006 i.e. when you joined. For example: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/7085723-post5.html

Are you confusing yourself with Dr. Mabuse? He's a different poster.

I've tried many times now, and no matter what I do the oldest results I get are from February of 2010. When I search for myself, I get 500 results and the oldest ones are 2/1/10. What gives? Is there a limit where it only shows 500 results?

Yes, there is a 500 post limit on the search. I apologize but this cannot be lifted because it would slow the entire site down to load the 1,768 posts you have made. However, if you look at your profile statistics you can view all of the threads you have started.

Did you try what benedict suggested? I just tried that on your name and, like him, got 450+ hits going back to June of 2006.

When I try "a year ago and older" it works, and shows all my posts, when I choose a week ago or a day ago it doesn't work and it only shows 476 results on 20 pages and the oldest ones are from March 2010.
