The "I let my premium membership lapse" thread...

I didn't renew, and have noticed many a folks no longer having avatars, so I figure they did too..

Why?

I just didn't see the point in paying for an avatar...Maybe I will re-new later, but for now...

You didn't find all the extras of membership worth it?

If they want people to pay for premium memberships, DVDTalk needs to advertise it. I haven't seen anything in over a year.

Re: The "I let my premium membership lapse" thread...

I'm still debating on my renewal. I've won a few contests which has made it worth the price but haven't made the decision to renew yet.

Re: The "I let my premium membership lapse" thread...

I 'ignorantly' thought that the original $10 fee was a 'lifetime' membership. Seriously!

I don't know if I will renew. I didn't spend much time in the premium forum and I never could decide on a avatar.

I know you all love the sparkling penis but am afraid you'll have to do without it when my membership is done.

Yea, it does seem different around here as far as getting moderation answers and such. I know that isn't the same as IB not answering you, but it's a different place here now...

For me it was the lack of resolution/explanation/anything that fueled my "meh". It's not the money, just the dis-regard.....

I didn't feel it was worth it. Besides I'm not here as often as I used to be...

The avatar was nice, but just didn't feel it was worth it. Never ventured into the premium area much either.

I actually hope it goes away. I hate avatars.

Can't you block avatars? I've never seen any here.

I was shocked by the number of people who were willing to pay $10 for an avatar last year. Doesn't seem like you really get much for your money.

Like I said, I ignorantly thought it was a lifetime premium membership and that is why I signed up.

Re: The "I let my premium membership lapse" thread...

I canceled mine. I think most did the premium thing because of what DVDTalk has given back to them in regards to bargains, friendships and what not. However, since Geoff sold the site, things have not been the same and I am sure many would agree. If Geoff were still in control, I am sure the premium forum would be worth it and there would be most likely more things in terms of premium stuff.

And I'm shocked by the number of people that regard $10 for a YEAR of something as being pricey. I spend more than that on breakfast. Big deal.

I doubt if many would pay for an avatar, or if anyone joined mainly for the avatar. I wouldn't pay a penny for the silly things.

I paid to support the site mainly, but the minor perks like the panic button are nice.

Also, it seems like most people who entered them won at least one contest, so that makes them worthwhile right there.

i don't think a donation of $10.00 to help keep this site continuing to run and provide ample information about everything we love in entertainment and other things, whether you get a little something like an avatar, a free DVD from a contest or nothing at all, is bad at all.

What would you like to see in the premium forum, specifically?
