search feature request

I'm not sure this is doable but would it be possible to search threads with pics and only have pics come up? This would come in handy for threads such as the home theater pic threads without having to go though all the text

Usually I want to do the exact opposite.

Give this search string a try...

Did you try it with showing posts, not threads? Or try "Search This Thread" within the thread that has the pics you want to see?

It works fine. What exactly are you having trouble finding?

If it worked fine, we wouldn't have a bunch of threads with third posts that say "hmmm, I searched for _______, but nothing came up."

Not knowing how to use search is not the same as search being broken.

Not to mention the people whose idea of "searching" is scanning through the first 5 threads on the first page of the forum.

If you don't like the search feature, you can also use Google. Just prefix your search with "site:forum.dvdtalk.com".

For example: site:forum.dvdtalk.com "search feature"

Do an advanced search. Search the TV Forum in Titles Only for "Simpsons" (minus the quotes). Limit search results to the last year. It only finds seven threads, with only one being a thread for a specific episode from last year, yet there were threads for almost every episode..

Any suggestions for searching for 3 letter word strings? Had a hell of a time searching for the likes of "saw" and "I am Sam", think I added actors names, but thought you all might have some better suggestions.

Put an asterisk at the end or beginning of the words. You'll get a few more results than you were hoping for but them's the breaks.
