What ad?

;)

But seriously, DVDTalk is the only site on my AdBlock exception list. Will that have to change?

lordwow 05-12-08 08:27 AM

Banner Ads TOO HORRIFIC FOR DVDTALK.

broadwayblue 05-12-08 08:43 AM

wow, lot of discussion on Frontiers in here. it's truly horrible, loud, and annoying, not to say anything about non-family friendly. when does it go?

CPA-ESQ. 05-12-08 09:08 AM

I too would like to say that I HATE those ads that if you happen to scroll over the ad - it launches the window :(

When will this end!

I never had that installed in FireFox until this mess, and it's helped out a lot. Not only with this add, but other sites as well.

I wish we had something here like other sites, where we pay a flat one-time fee of $10 or so and we got the site ad-free, with perhaps other benefits also.

orangecrush 05-12-08 09:22 AM

just adding my name to the list of people who hate this add.

Thanks for that! You've made my web-surfing 10x better!

I wish we had a subforum where those of us who want obnoxious banner ads could go and hang out.

palebluedot 05-12-08 09:40 AM

Fuck DVDTalk until this ad is gone. Someone email me when this shit is over.

Doc Moonlight 05-12-08 09:55 AM

It keeps causing my computer to freeze. I can't browse the threads and wind up having to close IE and re-open.

Kicker_of_Elves 05-12-08 10:02 AM

Just get those add ons for Firefox and your golden! Thanks for that info Josh-Da-Man, you lived up to your name dude. This is a hell of a lot better now than it was before.

kvrdave 05-12-08 10:22 AM

While I hate the ad, I generally don't complain on this type of thing because I figure it is a 1-2 day dea for which the site gets really good money....so I put up with it. But this has gone on past my patience

SteelWill 05-12-08 11:10 AM

+1 complaint.

I would have done that in a heartbeat when Geoff ran the site.

Under the non-responsive Internet Brands, there is no way am I paying money for this site, ads or not. I'm guessing I'm not alone in that stance.

Tarantino 05-12-08 11:38 AM

Fuck Internet Brands.

Seriously, IB doesn't have people working the weekends? What, the Internet only operates M-F, 9-5? Get real.

antennaball 05-12-08 11:45 AM

Ok, this has gone on long enough. I'm done with DVDTalk for a couple of days. Hopefully, it will be gone by then.

Good point.

I keep forgetting that it's a whole new ballgame now.

Tarantino 05-12-08 11:50 AM

Josh, I installed the Firefox plug-ins that you suggested and I must say, THANK YOU.

I was just going to stop visiting for a few days, but now I can browse and I don't see or hear ANYTHING Frontier(s).

antennaball, just do what he suggested, you'll be fine.

I'm sure that's what they tell the advertisers if the site goes down on a saturday morning. "Nope can't get it back up until monday, guess you'll just have to eat that money you gave us." Bullshit.

VinVega 05-12-08 11:56 AM

This ad is extremely annoying when it explodes out of my speakers at work.

There's a huge difference between having server maintenance staff either working or on-call over the weekend and having editorial staff available to make content decisions.

That being said, we're into the afternoon on the east coast with no word one way or the other which is beginning to test my patience.

Kelkee 05-12-08 12:04 PM

This ad is just extremely annoying period.

Anyone who thought this was a good idea should be fired. From the idiot who coded it to the idiot who approved it. As well as to the director and writer coming up with yet another Hostel-knock-off-horror-porn-fest. barf-yawn.

Complete FAIL all around.

cdollaz 05-12-08 12:08 PM

fuck!!! Get Rid Of This Shit Already!!!!!

lordwow 05-12-08 12:11 PM

Oh My God.

They're cutting her hair again! MAKE IT STOP PLEASE. Don't cut her.... actually it looks ok. Maybe it was just a trim.
