Roger Ebert thread in Movie Talk - maybe time for a lock?

As a follow-up to my recent post in the following thread (and with a tip of the hat to DVDTalker William Fuld, and since no one raised a voice against the idea):

What are everyone's thoughts in regard to putting a lock on the thread? I don't want to play thread police, but we've had our fun and now the discussion seems to have run its course, and perhaps is approaching tactless if it lingers too long...plus it is fairly lengthy.

Maybe a new thread along the lines of "Roger Ebert Discussion & Appreciation" would be more fitting...perhaps with a request that in the event of any less optimistic health updates (of which I hope there are none) that they be conveyed in a new thread and maybe a request to steer clear of any gallows humor. I suppose among other things...I don't know how Roger Ebert spends his day, but in the off-chance that he might actually stumble across Movie Talk, maybe it'd be nice to see something a little less....ghoulish. I mean we can still take issue with his reviews and such, but maybe just extend a little more courtesy to him in regard to health issues.

I agree 100%, it should've been done a long time ago. Every time I see that thread bumped up to the top I can't help but think the worse, if only for a split second.

Yeah, I didn't realize how old and long the thread was. Just close it now, start a new one entitled "Roger Ebert Health Updates."

I've closed the original. Please start a part 2 or maybe something like the suggested "Roger Ebert Health Updates".
