IMHO, there are a few people that got banned over things that were perhaps not such a big deal and maybe they're really sorry and have learned their lesson and would love to come back.

As a wee lad, way back in the black & white days of my life - being no more than 7 years old, and feeling grumpy and in desperate need of a nap (I presume), for one reason or another, I opened my BIG (little) mouth and called my Mom a 'B'!

(Just the letter that is, but it was more than enough to seal my short-lived fate! )

The next thing I heard was her saying, 'What did you say to me, little man?', and knowing full well I had crossed the line that would (without a doubt) lead to a 'butt-warming' (on my end, literally), and throwing caution to the wind while adding even more insult to injury, like a mini-Evel Knievel, I boldly said, 'You heard me! I called you a 'B'!, and she said, 'What does the 'B' stand for?', and in that stunned moment, with my 7 year old can of whoop-arse (and courage to look her in the eye) quickly evaporating, now starring nervously at the floor, I mumbled, '...you know what it stands for...', and no sooner did I utter my last word, (and looking up slowly), to my shock, she had literally disappeared from the chair in the living room, and hearing the screen door slap shut, I knew exactly where she disappeared to. She was headed to none other than...

'The Switch Tree'!!!

(For those of you that may not know: A switch in this situation, was a thin, long twig, approximently 12 to 18 inches long, and its sole purpose was to inflict, 'That'll Teach Ya!', stinging pain to the lower extremities of (in this case) a smart-arsed, potty-mouthed, young'un.)

Needless to say, that was the LAST time I EVER called my Momma a 'B', and so I agree with Houstondon about that being a MOST bad idea...
