A post of mine was recently deleted from the current Chinese Democracy thread. It was in response to this post by Benedict.
Since my original post was apparently found to be inappropriate or something for that thread (not sure why--I didn't receive any kind of response whatsoever to it), I'll ask it again here:
If the thread can do without any snipped quotes and "yawns," perhaps it can also do without the repeated (and tired) "this thread is meaningless"-type comments, as well?
Every time the thread gets bumped, nodeerforamonth has to chime in and say how meaningless or pointless the thread is. That kind of stuff adds nothing to the conversation at all. There are obviously people (like me) who are interested in discussing news on the album, if it ever comes out or not, and don't find the thread meaningless.
Benedict, as you yourself said a few months ago, some people here want to talk about the prospect. I suggest that they are allowed to do so (in peace).

As can be seen in the thread to which you refer, nodeerforamonth acted on my reminder to post thoughtfully i.e. although he is negative about GnR "news", there is sufficient meat in his subsequent posts to demonstrate a desire to post constructively on the general topic.
Unfortunately, for reasons that are not clear to me, you ignored a similar/equivalent request. Consequently, to reduce the risk of another pointless argument developing in a GnR thread, I deleted your offending post and left an explanation in its place.
I could have recommended a suspension - for what looked like a wilful flouting of a moderator request for calm - but my judgement was to use a light touch.

Yes, because "yawning" and suggesting that repeated comments such as "this thread is meaningless" were adding nothing to the thread was behavior that was just so over the line and suspension-worthy.
Thank you for showing some mercy toward me, Sir.
